RE: pod. if its noise you're after, cut the airbox lid a bit bigger than the aircleaner diameter (that way itll still filter the air, lol). If you are set on a pod filter, then yes it can be done, get some flexi hose, or a 90degree silicone hose and slap it on. if the carby doesn't have a lip that you can put the hose over with a clamp then you may need to mod a lip on, or maybe see if you can mount some pvc or something on and put the hose on that.

Quick update. No installs this time, but I did receive some new toys to mess around with today.

I'd like to make a massive shout out to Ryan (aka Blacktop) for hooking me up.

First package I got contained a couple of sext copper strips around 150mm long. One is about 3mm thick and the other is about 4mm thick.

The next package I had 6 of these inside.


I have spent the last little while prep'ing them for installation into the Sherpa.

First step: Take the loose bits of insulation off.


Second step: Tin the ends with solder and slip on some short lengths of heat shrink.


Third step: Crimp and solder on some connectors.


Fourth step: Heat up the heat shrink.


Final product:


Then, I opened up the next package which contained six T10 7 LED lights.


Now I just need to figure out what the hell I am going to do with them all. I am thinking some footwell illumination but not sure what else. I picked up a switch from SuperCheap Auto a couple of weekends ago that has slotted into one of the cutouts on the dash perfectly in preparation for some interior lighting.

I might also look into retrofitting these T10 connectors onto the parkers on the front of the Sherpa to utilise the LEDs I got today and eventually swap them over to some 24LED SMD panels I am waiting on. The parkers currently have a bayonet type fitting in them and I can't seem to source the correct sized bulbs for them. Anyway, I am sure I will find a use for them.

Nice work man, always had a bit of a soft spot for the old Sherpas! Looks like there's some effort gone into this one, keen to see the end result.

Well, I found a use for 2 of the connectors today. Turns out, down beside each seat, there is a cutout in the chassis that looks like it was made for just this application. Well, not these exactly, but the light fittings fit perfectly so that is what I am going with. The end result wasn't as good as I was hoping, but the install was fun if nothing else.

I have another pole on the switch to utilise at some stage so no doubt I will find something to do with it at some stage.

Oh yeah, the mrs manage to watch the whole install (1.5 hours) shaking her head wondering what the hell I was doing it all for...

Cheers dude. Unfortunately, I think the sub box idea has changed somewhat... I am now thinking I'll make up a new side panel or just brace one of the existing side panels to make it a bit more rigid and install the sub there. Just need to figure out the best way to go about it without going to too much effort.
