Thats a serious amount of Torque aswell!! Must pull like a freight train!! And to think this is only a run in tune!! Cant wait to see the results with the bigger injectors!!!

Factory power ATW by 3500rpm

Torque tapers off quite in a very OEM manner, what are you using for boost control? With the airflow mods you've done, I would have expected pretty flat torque curve...... mind you with the current AFM and injector limits you're hitting that's probably going to explain a lot for the moment.

What's with the 2nd line on the graph, was that an earlier run?

That's the torque line, read against the vertical axis on the right-hand side of the graph.

So how would you read it in to Nm? take off a zero or something?

So how would you read it in to Nm? take off a zero or something?

Doesn't quite work like that: - but as a rough as guts.....you could go that way....here's how to kinda check your theory....

It's very hard to calculate and get the right reading...many factors involved...but roughly.....to convert tractive effort to engine torque is = Tractive effort(N) * tyre rad(m) / diff ratio/ gear ratio

example: - using gambits reading and adding some kinda made up numbers...i think the diff and gear ratio for the 6 speed is right.....

TYRE: - 215 / 45 / 18' = 325.25mm rolling radius to m = 0.3253m
DIFF RATIO: - 3.545
GEAR RATIO: - 1.137 ( 4th gear )

so.....7000N * 0.3253 / 3.545 / 1.137 = 564.94Nm torque

now....to check if this is kinda accurate you use 564.94Nm * 0.25% ( losses from engine to wheels estimation people go by ) = 141.235Nm + 564.94Nm = 706.175Nm at the engine + -

This is why people go by removing a zero from there dyno read out....cause it's kinda accurate but not...... 8) :?:

I THINK! I could be VERY wrong here...

Yeah when i get some coilovers, sort my suspension and get some decent brakes, a grossly overpowered wagon on a track without a chassis to support it, is like pushing shit up hill.

I wont ever doubt your calculating prowess  = Trust me, i'm no brains trust.... it toke me ages to find and work all that out on my car figures, spent stupid hours trying to find the most simplest but accurate way of getting N to Nm...I still think i'm getting it wrong and missing a few variables here and there...

I have made a ridiculous conclusion, i need more POWER! It's not enough hahaha! = YOU ARE JOKING RIGHT? ehehehehe THATS HEAPS!

Yeah, not real sure about the whole 25% loss factor. The true power loss is not linear as you lose more power to heat, noise and friction as you crank up the revs, let alone tyre pressure, atomspheric correction factors, cooling considerations, etc. Either way, if the rest of the of the maths hods tru and the correction figure is +/- 50%, that's still a healthy amount of torque. ;-)

Hey Gambit, what exhaust do you have on the car?

Gambit's Development Project

Postby Gambit » Mon May 30, 2011 8:12 am

Cpitts, I have a custom 3in dump with recirc ext wastegate, to hacked MRT center with PSR Tomimoka 5in 100cell cat to 3in center to center eBay muffler which replaced old MRT resonator to custom Racetec performance Y pipe 2.5in, to magnaflow quads, will post video of it later.
