More than enough for the stock drive train in my opinion.
Tradewind wrote:>200wkw - 2.75" slight loss of low end torque but will allow much better high end power by far.

Not interested for a daily drive, any loss of low end torque would annoy me.
Tradewind wrote:The stock manifolds may be very efficient for turbo set up, however I can't recall any car to date that had factory headers/manifolds suited to supercharging.

The stock manifolds on the 3.0R are designed without turbo or supercharging factored in, are they not?

3RS

Thanks for movie

Stock manifold certainly arent designed with either form of FI but you will generally find a stock manifold ok for turbocharging as smaller diameters etc are actually a good thing so gas speed at turbine entry is fast providing minimal

Tim,

Are you thinking about an improved intake manifold?

I would like to see a shiny chrome one myself. The matt black plastic just doesn't look the part!

There should be primers that will adhere to that plastic allowing STI red to be applied.

With chroming - there is a lot of chromed plastic now, this manifold could probably be coated with chrome easily enough

I hope that was tounge-in-cheek Mark? If it wasn't I don't think the chrome on the plastic manifold would take the expansion/contraction very well.

I was thinking more like a polished metal version and dice the plastic altogether. A company in Italy makes them, but the price was rediculous. Now if someone here understands the science behind inlet manifolds and can add some bling, I might be interested at some point down the track.

G,

Your SC Kit has set a new performance bar for the 3.0R. It is an awesome ride now with smooth urge from 2000rpm, then all hell breaks loose from 3500rpm. What a rush! It pulls like any V8 I have had the pleasure to drive and feels stronger at the higher revs. Nice tidy job on the install too. The kit seems to fit well.

Thanks also for pointing out some minor difference in the MY05 (mine) and the MY06 (yours) engine bay. Our EBDU orientation is different and for the MY05 protrudes further into the area where the charge pipe runs. Also my Cusco Brake Stopper screw will need trimming down to a more reasonable size (too lazy to do it when I installed) as it looks to be intruding into the same area.

Are the EBDU's impacted by a vehicle having VDC? I know mine has VDC being an auto. Not sure if the MY06 Spec B has VDC. Can any of you answer this point in an attempt to explain the difference in orientation and size?

You are sure right. Looking and seeing how these cars work for the road, the kit is beautiful. As a owner of a NA car, I cannot wait to see more 3R's final stats and owners reply. Been watch and hearing other cars NA Supercharged in the USA and the power and performance difference is mind blowing. Turbocharging a car is grief. Supercharging is so easy.

Tim, I cannot wait to see the performance on the WTA IC.
