NA84WA wrote:Fair call, but i rather something that looks OEM instead of having a big piece of white PVC pipe in my front gaurd!! But it would definately be easy to manufacture something there with a few cheap materials from bunnings and a few hours spare, just depends on what your after i guess :D

I was talking about an actual properly fabricated plastic funnel in the same material as the air guide to the stock airbox.
I'm going to see a local fabricator when I get some time and see what can be done, but if it's good could do a group buy for the forum. Would be specifically for post facelift Spec.B models though.

Matte black spray paint or textured black with some fine emery to smooth the edges would help it look OEM.

I was thinking of doing that with some PVC, but then I want a proper box to guide the air at the fog light section so I'm not sure how I would fit that with PVC.
Might go to bunnings and have a look first at what is available, but provided costs are kept low enough a properly OEM looking designed one would be much cooler.

Does anyone know if the air boxes are different pre/post facelift? (If not I'd be interested Kieran)

Airboxes are the same, pre-face lift would still work as air still gets back there around the foglight and through joints. There would be a sufficient amount to run the car.

chaotic2050 wrote:No it's to do with the fact that the Spec.B Post facelift actually has holes on the honeycomb style fog light surrounds, and you can put even more holes in to it to draft more air (senator had this done by PHAT GT). That's why I would make it post facelift specific.
The airboxes would be mostly the same if not completely the same.

Yeah that's no worries then (pretends to have a spec.b), I'll just extend it somehow and run it from the bottom opening left of the radiator is a small gap. Good idea Kieran!!

DRConcepts are selling an intake pipe very similar to the HKS one which is posted here. Maybe worth a look if you don't want a DIY PVC job.

If you do make your own, make sure to put some holes in it at the bend so that any water that gets in will not stay in / get sucked in to the air intake.

Car just kicked up a CEL tonight on the way to work at 100kph with the cruise control on. CEL light on, cruise and [S] mode light flashing. Still on when i just went to check the car now.

Had the PHAT DP fitted and tune done last Tuesday. There seems to be a air rushing noise on WOT to me sounds like a leaking gasket ever since i picked up the car.Im not sure if its the extra noise from the dump pipe or not. I pulled the intercooler off on the weekend to investigate to see if any seals where folded over and all seemed normal. Also checked all the bolts on the dump pipe for tightness and all seems to be good. Im curious as to why when i had the car dyno it made such a low torque figure (254nm) compared to other guys with libertys in perth that have had them tuned by ASG with the same mods as i have.

Have to give ASG a call in the morning to see why the CEL has come on. Id imagine it would be something to do with the hi flow cat making more exhaust gases and the parameters for the O2 sensor need adjusting.

I had a tune done to avoid this sort of thing but have still ended up with the same problem. A bit annoying but hopefully i can get it sorted by the guys at ASG.
