Faulty Central door lock (left rear door)

If you look at the lock switch on the inside, it's really slow to move the first few times you flick the open/close button, and then it warms up(?) and then starts functioning more normally.

its a pain, but it does work.
unless its totally crapped itself, pressing the button twice will usually open/close the door

I have the same problem (l/h rear door). If i was to pull the cover off the door and spray WD40 on the actuator, do you reckon that would temporarily fix it?

also having problems with mine am currently searching the web for a replacement my friend told me it was the door lock switch and mine and the actuator is still ok "for now".

Have got the same issue... Same door aswell.

I find that the best way to unlock the door, is to just hold the Unlock bottom on the remote down for longer than the usual quick press.

Whenever I lock my car, it's always the door I check to see if the car locked itself properly.

Luckily I've got used car warranty still so repair is not my problem, but whaddya know the damn thing doesn't play up when I visit an auto electrician!!

All have told me it's a faulty actuator but the used car dealer isn't willing to pay for it until he is 100% certain what the issue is.

just bought my liberty and got this exact same problem, only with both rear doors =( and never at the same time either.

same deal with the used car dealer and the auto elec they use. sean, you resolved your problem yet? anyone got any suggestions?

It's a very common problem on 4th Gen Libertys unfortunately, both my rear actuators have stuffed up, for the time (until I save up enough money) I have just unplugged both my rear door lock actuators, so I know they are always locked, and when needed (rarely) I will just unlock them and lock them by hand. I just got tired of checking they were locked every time I walked away from the car.

The most common to become faulty is the left hand rear, but sometimes the right hand rear does too.

My front driver door started sticking recently. I have just pulled that one apart and fixed it just like I did for the rear driver's side one last year. Both now operate at lightning speed.

The passenger side ones still are OK for now *touch wood*.

man, this sounds like a sucky problem.

so i've contacted consumer affairs to see if they'll have any luck making the dealer fix this up. otherwise i'll be going out to buy some degreaser and epoxy.

hehe forgot all about this thread.

consumer affairs got the dealer to look at it again. the mechanic they used just swapped out them out and replaced them with brand new ones from subaru =D

apparently secondhand ones costs just as much as new ones so he just got new ones instead. its been a week and no problems so far.

as an added bonus, i have 2 spares that should be fine after some cleaning.
