Conversion Time!

Postby talev788 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 2:57 pm

Not sure if this in the right area or not..

The time has come where my head gasket has blown in my 02 RX and I need to do something about it!
Tossing up between whether to replace the gasket or do a full engine conversion, I have decided to go ahead and find a B4 or STi front cut and get myself goin turbo!
Only problem is. I am from Newcastle and I have NO IDEA where to look!!
Any help and suggestions???

Cheers in advance

ahhh yes i get you, yeah ive heard the single turbo are alot better arent they..
main reason i thought it would be better getting a b4 cut is so i can use the bonnet with the scoop, the cluster and all that other stuff that comes with it

I don't think I will be going ahead with the conversion as I realised I'm not in the position to be able to afford the insurance for that kind of upgrade..
I will be replacing the head gasket although I was still thinking about getting a full exhaust system with extractors etc. Is it worth it for my car and would I gain much power with it?

You wouldn't gain much from just an exhaust.

Your best chances lay with cams, tune and exhaust combo.

Maybe some light head work too, port and polish.

Yeah that's about right for most places, a cashie would do it alot cheaper.

Ring up A&M Auto (http://amauto.com.au/home.html) and tell them you want a conversion and you have $5 - $6k and they'll do the rest.
