Unexpected Liberty Owner

Hi from Sydney's western suburbs. Never dreamed of owning a Subaru (scared of being labeled as the stereotypical Subaru driver)

Purchased myself an OB Liberty from a dealer in Sydney's inner west and couldn't be happier. Such a neat looking car but still has that WOW!! factor about it.

Anyway, I'm a spring chicken on the whole car scene - decided to stop spending my time & money OS and get a licence & car. Waiting on a new AV panel kit from PHAT then will be installing a new JVC KW-AVX736NAV, cheap I know but I figure in 3 years I'll be cruising in a TB STI

Found an amp & sub at home that my brother isn't using but not sure if I'll install them - Rockford Fosgate gear. I'm thinking I might go down the active sub route - BOSS audio BASS900 to be precise - can anyone advise otherwise?

Anyway, enough rambling - 35% tinting on the way & want to do an exhaust upgrade but its an auto & really need to avoid the milo tin sound - any suggestions??

Any thoughts on BBS CH Challengers? Would love them in shadow chrome

Welcome to the forums, enjoy the car now and don't be so quick to make plans for a TB STi until the time is much closer that you can drive one. I dunno about NSW P plate laws but I assume that's what you are talking about?

Exactly what I'm talking about! I think I only have myself to blame now though - being 22 & all I really should have been driving already for 5 years.. But not to worry. I'll find myself in one in 3 years - would love an R32 Golf but you pay out the a#% for one of those!!

Crazy expensive. About 700 a pop + treads.. Look amazing though. Yes I like the Connoisseurs too - there is just too much choice!! Any other ideas which are kinder to the pocket?

Well Tangcla, I've looked at your website & your cars & it seems you know what you're doing. I'm a little more conservative & the BASS900 should still give that little bit of kick I'm after right? Any other suggestions for under seat subwoofers?

The best suggestion for underseat subwoofers is, don't waste your time with them, especially anything by BOSS (they are sooooooooooooo shite). Go for either an 8" free air sub in the parcel tray or better yet a good quality 10" or 12" sub in the correct tuned enclosure. By good quality I don't mean, Rockford Fosgate (their gear has really slipped in sound and build quality in recent years), Pioneer, Kenwood, Clarion etc etc etc. JB Hifi is not your friend LOL. Email Marty at FHRX Studios for suggestions and prices. For my $$$ I would look at the following brands:

I realise they aren't the best option, but I don't want to go with something extremely huge & pricey. Help me make the best of a not so good situation & recommend the best for what I'm after. Plus cbf running all those cables..

Thank you for respecting my superior audiophile knowledge.
I believe the BASS900 will provide you with that kick, however remember that these are consumables, so you will need to replace them at least every 5 hours.
If that doesn't provide you enough kick, or if you have bowels of concrete, you might want to try the BASS1500.
(haha - the catchphrase for Boss Audio Systems is "Entertain yourself". )

Disclaimer: all of the above is tongue in cheek. I do not endorse Boss Audio, nor would I recommend them unless you were on a very very very tight budget.

Looked all over for it, can not find one. Marty from FHRX said 'The Invisibass doesn't work well because the port is completely wrong for the driver they're employing. It results in an andromeda hump in the frequency response'

Ok so I've settled on two Kenwood units... they are a little cheaper than what I was going to spend but if I don't like what they sound like I have a mate that will take them off my hands to use and will give me the equivalent of what I spent which is even better!!
