Specifications will be confirmed at the 2007 Tokyo motor show, although the GT-R will be powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and again employ an all-wheel-drive system. The new V6 is reported to deliver 353kW of power and 588Nm of torque, and Nissan is said to claim the GT-R sprints from 0-97km/h in 3.5 seconds and complete the quarter-mile dash in 11.7 seconds. Top speed is reportedly 245km/h.

Drivers will change gears using a dual-clutch six-speed transmission similar in operation to Volkswagen's DSG system, and paddleshifts can be seen on the GT-R's steering wheel in the official interior photo.

A six-speed manual is also expected to be offered in an 'entry-level' GT-R. A more powerful (circa-400kW) Evolution version is expected.

The Nissan GT-R will cost $77,000 when it hits Japanese showrooms in December, although expect it to cost more when it lands locally.

MUSCLE!!! Woah... I like it!

The driver's view looks like one of a pilot's, dials and switches everywhere to be seen.

I wonder how much it will cost and it one will make it to our shores....

Yeah, I really love it!

Can't wait to see what kind of upgrades the boffins at Nismo can come up with! :D

If $77,000 is the true JDM price, then I'd assume it will be closer to the $100,000 AUD mark when it lands here?? Dont think there's any official word on the pricing of it from Nissan Australia yet, as it's not due here until 2009..

Yep, saw that while ago. It's nice!

But for a price tag of $150K+ AUD?

I don't know about that...

I spoke to the state manager of Nissan today, who confirmed it will be coming here, but not for at least 12 months (I used to work for Nissan).

We didn't talk price, but I'd expect $140ish as a starting point, and it will be worth every penny.

They've been testing it at Nurburgring and it's beaten the time of the new 911 turbo, just off the pace of the Carrera GT (7:28 vs sub 7:35 reportedly). The Carrera GT is a direct competitor to the McLaren F1.

This is a genuine supercar.

And yes, I'll be getting one!
