How does one get to the back of the Mcintosh headunit?
I have a Clarion EA1251 that just arrived...

There are some pins on one connector on the back of the unit that I would very much like to see what happens if you ground them!

I think they pull off but haven't had a go for fear of breaking them. I want to get them off so I can clean up the face plate that's been scratched up.

what i'm thinking is that you MIGHT end up needing to replace them all...
might be worth doing some background b4 u pull it off.
haha no... it's just the silver side trim piece that goes up the centre console that got bent, cos I thought you remove them BEFORE the gearshift surround... boy, was I wrong!IDOLYZ wrote:i was going to ask you what you are doing with the macintosh unit after you replace it? but i'm guessing it's broken now?
