Assistance Required.

Postby Divey » Sun Apr 10, 2011 10:07 am

I have a an 04 Liberty B4 wagon and I have a very small section of the turret that has some underlying rust beginning. The area is right next to the plastic strip that runs nearly the full length of the turret on each side. I have removed the little clips that expose a 8mm bolt and I have also removed that bolt but I'm buggered if I can remove these plastic strips.
Can someone help.

Also a big help if your subject lists the model year, and type of problem - eg bodywork. Then people who dont know anything about the area wont waste time looking, but the people who do know something will chime in.

I went and saw a friend to day that owns a small smash repair business. NOT HAPPY.........you have to remove the entire roof lining including four airbad section to get to the scres that hold the plastic strips to the turret. It's not going to happen.

I'm terribly sorry for wasting your time. After all, it was my first post on this forum and I simply followed what others have been doing.

Next time (if ever) I post something here I will make the subject my entire post. Will that suffice :?: :?:

The turret is the name for a roof....the entire roof including the sun roof.

Ah, there you go LOL.

As jp928 mentioned though, it would be more helpful if your subject title was a bit more specific especially being your first post. As a courtesy more than anything. Seeing a subject line "Assistance Required" and then no form of introduction like "Hi guys or Hi all. I'm blah blah from blah blah" from a new member kind of put people on the back foot.

I am from the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Yep, I know, great place for breeding Pacific Cancer.

The rust spot is about as big as your little finger nail. It's the underlying type rust that just bubbles up the paint a little.
I've fixed it best I can without spending many hundreds of dollars, however, my repair looks shit.
