Harlequin - MY11 Black GT Wagon - Canberra

Hey all,

After recently selling off my toys (2 modified Toyota Aristos, 350rwhp and 475rwhp) due to the need of a 'family car', my wife and I bought a GT wagon with 6 speed manual. We were quoted really crappy prices locally, so I shopped around in Sydney, got a great quote from a dealer there, and then put the local dealers to the test to see if they'd match it. They did, and we saved ourselves approx 6k off RRP. Good times :D

I would love to mod this car, but as it is the 'family car', the missus has put the foot down and I'm now playing the role of obedient husband! However, I did convince her to let me change the wheels, as this shouldn't void the new car warranty (And if it does, I still have the original ones in the shed!). I have the USB cable fitted, so now I just need to hack the nav so i have full functionality whilst on the move.

Anyhoo, here are some pics with the new wheels - 19x8 Enix Turbine +45 - 245/35R19:

I know the car still sits very high, but this is the height it'll stay at, at least until the new car warranty runs out. I've already taken the car out for a session at the local skid pan, just to see how the AWD would handle (had fun with many cars on a skid pan, but never tried an AWD). This session turned out to be a pretty dissapointing attempt. Even with the traction control turned off, and car set to Sports #, it still was too grippy and wouldn't play the slide game. Guess thats a modern day AWD for ya! On a positive note, I was quite impressed at how well the liberty maintained grip, even with a lunatic driver trying his hardest to lose control.

Anyway, i'll leave my intro at that. Look forward to contributing to this club.

They were a very phat set of Work Eurolines for one of my old Aristo's.

F: 19 x 9.5 +19 with 235/35 Khumo tyres (60% tread)
R: 19 x 11 +23 with 245/35 Khumo tyres (90% tread)

Sold them the other day for a veeeery low price. Paid for my new Subaru wheels though, so it's not all bad news.

Looks nice Trevor, I definitely like the look of gen V wagons over the sedans (no offence sedan owners).

No mods! sorry to hear that mate. but i do know that argument only too well! I can bring my angle grinder down and take a couple of inches off those springs, I'm sure the misses won't notice! :D

Great lookin' car! I'm biased toward the wagon, no shame in admitting it :D hehe.

No, not Enkei's at all. They're Enix. Bought and fitted from local Jax dealer for $1700 w/tyres.

Thanks, the wheels do make the car look a lot better. How often do the Canberra crew meet up? Would be good to meet up with some local Subaru enthusiasts.
