Please Help!!!

Postby DLBSPC » Fri Apr 01, 2011 6:27 pm

Hey guys, I stuffed up, rushed a job and now its bad.......

I put my stock filter/intake/ box and what not back on and forgot to take the negative terminal off the battery.

NOW

in 2nd gear at 6500rpm it wont push at all, im only doing 80kmh by that time and its pissing and farting.

I took a guy with me whos really knows this stuff and he reckons its running lean under boost.

SO I am currently resetting the ECU by taking the neg terminal off for 10 minutes (please confirm).

Any other suggestions.

The car was fine before I messed with the air flow sensor region. (no i didnt knock it or bump it)

Did you have a pad filter previously on?
Trying to work out what you've changed to diagnose the problem.
Maybe you've got dirt in it.

Clean your AFM , solved. You've got it dirty or got water on it or broken it. You can get AFM cleaner from supercheap. And why would you take the -ive terminal off the battery to change your intake?!!?

I think the guy advising You may not be getting the full picture. Resetting/ reflashing the ecu would take a bit longer than 10 min battery drain in the driveway.
I don't think that's your problem. It's your AFM for sure
You're probably out there now so I'll wait for more info

I took off a hyperflow CAI cause for some reason I'm using 15l to the 100km in fuel. I thought it may be the CAI so I'm testing it. The reason I mentioned the neg terminal was because a previous member advised me to remove it before installation of the CAI, I assumed it had something to do with the AFM. Cheers boys I will clean the AFM and see what happens. I just ran it again and it wasn't pissing and farting but it just didn't seem to have the legs in 2nd. It wasn't pulling real hard.

Has your car been retuned for the CAI?
