Power steering fluid questions

Postby wixy » Sat Mar 19, 2011 8:37 am

I'm thinking of changing the power steering fluid in my 3.0r-b liberty, as it doesn't seem to be a serviceable item.

What type and brand should I use?

How do you flush / change it?

I would appreciate any advice!

Thanks for the links, I'm still a bit unclear though on what type to use.

Some say use DX III auto transmission fluid, I presume this: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... x?pid=1466

Is this better than the stuff labelled power steering fluid? http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... escription

Nah, just use ATF fluid.
If you want it last abit longer, get synthetic oil.

Castrol TQ-DIII

just buy a 5L bottle for about $30. (in a red bottle Dexron III spec)
it's good to have extra on hand and it can also be used to flush manual transmissions when doing a fluid replacement.
