Sunroof - single button press to close completely.

Postby oztoma » Tue Mar 15, 2011 4:36 pm

I'm sure this applies to many Lib models with sunroofs, but in case I'm wrong, this post is for a MY05 RB Lib...

The sunroof open/close switch operation OEM is:

Assume sunroof is currently completely open...
Press close button - Sunroof slides closed half way and stops.
Press close button again - Sunroof slides closed the second half, and is completely closed.

What I'm after is to change the operation such that:

Assume sunroof is currently completely open...
Press close button - Sunroof slides closed completely - not just half way.

It's annoying having to press close twice, as I never leave it in the half-open position. (minor annoyance, but an annoyance I could do without...)

Does anyone know how to do this?

I plan on pulling off the covers around the switch to see if there's anything simple. However, hoping someone else may have already tackled this.

So your spending hours and hours of work to fix something that takes three secounds to close? Plus take the risk of stuffing the whole relay up. yes its kinda annoying but my point of view it get over it

just my 2c.

Who said anything about spending hours and hours? So far I've spent 2 mins writing a post on this forum to find out what's involved. That said, there's a lot of modders in here who do spend hours and hours to achieve what are at face value just small changes/fixes/improvements.

But thanks for the slightly negative rant - if I don't find a simple solution, I will get over it... albeit with a few tears of unfathomable sadness.

If it's in any way connected to the body control module (which I assume it would be because the dome light is), I would not be touching anything up there.
If you fry that it's going to cost you approx $2000 to replace.
