First 3 mods :D

Postby vans_sydney » Sat Mar 05, 2011 12:22 am

My first 3 mods on my recently purchased '01 RX 2.5

Red LED strip over the pedals, required some ghetto engineering, involving a strip of cut up tupperware container lid to mount to leds to!

Sprayed grill matte black, pretty happy with the result

Bought cheapish 2nd hand rims, 17" with 205/40 tires

thoughts?

keep an eye out for me around northern beaches, hornsby area!

Alex!

Yeh thanks hamish! i can't wait to get new custom plates! yellow/dirty/dented ones aren't the sexiest hah. speaking of lowering, know a good set of springs? i cant lower it more that about 30mm cause i have a gnarly steep drive way!

Jimbo, I'll definitely keep an eye out, shouldn't be able to miss your machine!

hey mate the libs lookin good, i 2nd the suggestion of different plates, get some white ones!
in terms of springs i had the same situation with a shitty driveway, i put in a set of king springs (the king spring range doesnt go as low as others) and it went fairly low where its noticable but not over the top for you to get defected, keeps a sorta nice stock look but doesnt look too high at the same time

I don't know how you guys live in the Northern Beaches and surive with a lowering. I know people with stock suspension that have enough trouble clearing ridiculously steep and poorly designed driveways and entrances.

Anyway, that's a great start! Footwell lights aren't too terribly rice, and always good to black out the grille. But yeah, with the new wheels, which now draws attention to that area, the fender gap is more noticeable. Time for a lowering as the others suggested. Good luck with the clearance!

Totally agree with you, I've got springs ready to go but can't put them in until I know where we are moving next due to our current driveway being such a steep grade

hey i'm keen!

thanks guys, i'm currently looking into taking it to pedders and getting some new springs :)

looking at getting a varex muffler this week too, so hopefully have that in by the time we cruise, speaking of which, anyone in the northern suburbs area pro at installing mufflers/have all the appropriate know-how and tools? i'm lacking most of the fundamental components i.e. somewhere/how to jack up my car!

thanks!
