Hi guys what kind of power is the standard 2.0T engine capable of running reliably, would you be able to get 360-370hp which i think is about 270kw from the standard internals?

yes sorry at the fly, i aiming for about 300 bhp at the wheels if possible on standard internals with the vf36 and supporting mods

300HP (223.71kw) ATW's is doable with standard internals & the usual supporting mods such as larger intercooler, TB exhaust, etc etc etc.

BUT, you won't be getting that with a standard turbo. With a standard turbo (Manual turbo) I'd say 200kw ATW's is the absolute best you could hope for.

I asked a similar question to PHAT GT if 180-200kw ATW was possible on the stock turbo, he said it was...but don't expect the turbo to last long.

To get that amount of power the boost needs to be pushed up & the standard IHI turbos just don't like it.

Best to go after market straight off the bat so you can safely / reliably make that sort of power (If not more).

VF40 is standard fitment on the 2.0 GT's isn;t it..?
so 1700-180KW ATW from 17-18psi should be achievable without longevity issues (with supporting mods)

Sorry , i should have been more clear, im just curious what kind of power the standard 2.0L block can reliably handle, i have a VF36(off an Impreza spec C), TB exhaust, AVO intercooler, Walbro fuel pump waiting to go on and im just wondering would the standard internals or vf36 be the limiting factor?

Turbo is the limiting factor in terms of how much power you will get... & also how good your turner is of course.

In terms of how much the engine can actually handle before cracking open the block, well I know of several members who are running damn near 250kw ATW's with standard internals...

Have a buddy with a 36 on a 2.0l block doing 350whp easy 2 years running now and no probs
