Strut Brace with Brake Stopper

Postby AndrewCowley » Wed Oct 18, 2006 9:35 pm

I have a question about this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CUSCO-STRUT-BAR-WITH-BRAKE-STOPPER-FOR-LIBERTY-LEGACY_W0QQitemZ250038302963QQihZ015QQcategoryZ50142QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Any thoughts on the brake stopper feature of this strut brace? Sounds wierd to me. Does it actually do anything?

D'ya reckon this is good value for money? Seems to cost a fair bit more than a whiteline strut brace.

I think a few of us do. And I guess he's at least reading this forum if not posting. I only realised it was him after I posted the link. I have some other goods on order that haven't yet come so I'll be steering clear of this. Whiteline here I come!

Even so I'd be interested if anyone can shed some light on this 'brake stopper' idea!

Hmmm, it appears to just be bracing the master cylinder on the brake pedal. Maybe they flex a little if you jump on the pedal hard.
Yes, I think "japanese_auction" is James/Darkwatch. Just post a "buyer question" and I'm sure he'll describe what it does. :)

So what does it really do? Make the pedal a bit harder?

I actually measured movement of the master brake cylinder with brake pedal fully depressed and released and the movement was minimal, certainly not enough to make me consider purchasing the master cylinder brace....

for the extra 6300 yen ($75) on top of the 15750 yen you pay for the strut brace so the break stoper part is not much to pay for an extra brace
