Good questions and useful reply - thanks :-)

This pretty much answers the questions I had in my head and hadn't yet posted.

Naldo details cars when he has the time, send him a PM.
He is currently overseas though so your better off going elsewhere if you are after someone to do it now.

I know a guy who charges $90 for full detail (polish etc) and he will drive to your house to do it as well, he has done my car once and did my brothers WRX a few times.

If your looking at paying top dollar then final inspection is well known as one of the best in Melbourne, but it can get very expensive depending on how clean you want your car. I haven't used them personally but a lot of people on this forum have. http://www.finalinspection.com.au/

Hi guys,

Just did another detailing to my Dad's car.

It's Mitsubishi Pajero Sport AKA Challanger in OZ. Dark grey color, hard to get it slick and wet.

It's brand new so I just need some light clean up.

Using:

1. B&D Rotary Buffer at speed 1000-1500RPM with Hydrotech polishing pad
2. Some sports using DA DAS-6 at speed 5-6
3. Meg's D151 reconditioning paint cream
4. Blackfire Wet Diamond
5. Blackfire midnight sun
6. Blackfire Spray sealant

Result, very slick, wet, deep glossy metallic pops out. Very easy to use.

Comments appreciated.

Hrmmm I took my rims off the car to detail them 2 weeks ago, came up reaaal nice 8)
back and front, Meguiars HOT RIMS All wheel cleaner first, high pressure wash, scrubbed the tyres with a sponge, then Meguiars HOT RIMS mag and aluminium polish followed by clay bar and then topped it off with Meguiars ultimate quick wax....I need to buy a proper wax and sealant some time soon.
I have heard good things about some Poorboys sealant.....Anyone used that before?

Poorboys never use it.

Sealant more into durability than look.. So if ur looking into looks, still top up with carnaubra wax, not synthetic polymer base.

Buy one of my migliore product mate. Ur car will look BLINK.. hehe.. :p

Thanks

I have no idea what you mean by BLINK.
Also I meant the sealant for the rims....it's called Poorboys Wheel Sealant.

I find Sealants are great for shine and reflection and best durability.

A good quality wax will last for a few months, adds a lot of depth to the paint, which is awesome especially for metallic/pearl dark colored cars. Or layer a sealant and then use a wax on top of the sealant to get the best of both.

Nanolex rim sealant's good. different to paint sealant as it can withstand higher temps.

BLINK=Metallic flakes pop out.

Not all waxes can be metallic flakes pop out.

But sealant is more depth warm and for reflection. While wax carnaubra for wet glossy metallic pop out.

Thanks

Great work, could have finished it off with some tyre treatment though :D

How did you find 205 vs 85RD?
I find 85RD gives a great wet finish!
