tangcla's audio project, part 2

Postby tangcla » Sat Feb 12, 2011 10:41 am

Custom made bezel I bought.

Intentions are to hook the Alpine NVE-M300P navigation unit through an Alpine NVE-S370 screen from America.

So it turns out the facia is slightly different between RHD and LHD vehicles... I need to sand back a corner.

LOL! That's every other month he'll post up that he's thinking about selling. In-between those months he posts his new modifications/projects. :D

Yeah I figured I'll keep the car. Nothing I really want in the price range I want to spend, and Steve, your comment about the M5 scared me off :(

I sold the Eclipse a while ago, I now have the Alpine IVA-W520E + KCE-250BT Bluetooth + NVE-M300P navigation unit.

Test fit.

Doesn't fit perfectly but it looks close enough when you're not looking up close.

G'Day Clarence,

Very interesting stuff and the fit is close enough!

If I wasn't getting rid of mine whip shortly, I'd probably do something similar except I'd go for a single DIN in the stock location and install one of those single din centre speakers that are on the Alpine website.

I hadn't seen a retrofit centre speaker installed like that before and while a pocket would probably be more practical, I like the idea of the centre.

Centre speaker isn't a bad idea, wonder if I can hide that somewhere else.

The reason I'm going for the TME-S370 screen is because it has an integrated speaker and I don't need to worry about the hassle of getting it mixed into my amplifier.

Hmmm yer I saw the integrated speaker thing but figured that was for the GPS voice guidance, I usually turn that bossy lady's voice off within 2 minutes of the first use of a GPS!
