Probably not a bad idea given the increase in the last week.

had a look under my hood my08 wagon today and noticed the plastic pipe that feeds water to windscreen wipers runs up and over the one bolt on the hood (right hand side )
could this cause a problem with the strut
also i was reading that the strut makes the hood sit up a few mm what is a few mm 2,4,6,8 :?: :?:
anyone ..... anyone......

Exactly what you read.
An almost unnoticeable difference that only a person who owned the car prior to the struts being fitted on would notice.
To the regular eye it's just a regular flat bonnet, because it is.....just not as flat as it was before.

the struts come with a bracket that is fitted in position under the upper of the two bolts that secure our bonnets.

the brackets have a ball on the outer side, to which the strut attaches.

bracket sits under and does not interfere with windscreen washer lines.

a bolt is removed from your bonnet/fender channel and is replaced by a supplied bolt with a ball on top.

the other end of the strut attaches to this ball and whalla, you have bonnet struts.

very, very, very slight difference in my alli bonnet appearance with struts fitted.

non alli bonnets would prob stay unchanged due to their rigidity.

I will take some pics tomorrow.

Lozza,
does the middle edge of ur bonnet sit up slightly due to the struts. Mine sits up ever so slightly, just wanted to check that I haven't done something wrong.
Cheers

Im waiting on a final reply from the vendor and then i'll send out the payment details.

At this point, by the time everyone pays it'll probably be open for an additional week, although im not sure that we'll make the 30 price bracket. Fingers crossed.

Ben.

Yeah fatfrog,

I double checked everything too, cos my bonnet sits up ever so slightly in the middle also.

I don't believe you would get this on the stiffer steel bonnets, so I'm putting it down to alli flex. Is your bonnet alli or steel?

I took some pics to show the prospective buyers but it's really hard to see diff, cos of reflection off paintwork(esp on black car) and probably need a better camera to show it up BUT it is such a slight difference that as stated previously "you wouldn't pick the difference unless it's your car".

the first pic below makes it look like there's a big gap too but that's just shadow, in real life with the naked eye you can hardly see it.

the second pic is prob a better indicator.

IMHO, struts definitely worth the minor bonnet difference.....you will be pleased
