With both connectors connected you should still be able to read it via ECUFlash - regardless of whether your ROM is supported by Romraider/LV OR ECUFlash. Basically you car should be able to be read by ECU Flash, but you just wont have any editable tables. To be able to be read however, the green connectors must be connected in the footwell as well as the ones on the drivers side. Note I never touched the connectors on the drivers side as they are connected from factory in my GT. However, ensure both are connected.
So when you start up ECU Flash, I presume you can see the icons coloured for read/test write/write etc? When clicking read, use the STI04 read method (this is the one I use) as it is for the 32 bit ECU's of that vintage.
Also which OS are you using? and did you use the FTDI driver listed prior OR are the tactrix drivers installed?
Thanks Lee,
I cannot recall if I tried the 2004 STI/WRX version during the Read, so I will give it another try tomorrow. I am reasonably sure that I would not get the fan cycling noise if any one of the green test connectors was disconnected. For me, I have left the passenger side footwell connectors permanently connected and have inserted a switch in the drivers side (located just in front of the OBDII Port). Seems to work well.
My OS in Windows XP with SP3 and the FTDI drivers were downloaded from the link on this webpage and I also confirmed the version via the WIndows Driver panel when checking the Serial Port connections/options.
Can you please confirm in detail all your USB Serial Port configuration? Mine are 4800 bps, 8 data bits, No parity, 1 stop bit, No Flow Control. There are also some Advance parameters that can be modified and it would be good if you can confirm yours for me as well.
Kind Regards,
Mark.
