MagnaFlow is pretty good. You should find some local MagnaFlow dealers/muffler shop near you and get them to customise a setup for you. Should still be cheaper than HiTechs.

Supercat also make some good mufflers

i have one on my Legacy currently and it's a nice note

they have universal with tips already
http://www.supercatconverters.com/stain ... es_5x8.asp
or universal with inlets/ outlets only
http://www.supercatconverters.com/unive ... fflers.asp

and they're usually about $225-260 each

It's important to measure the width tip to tip, to ensure it will fit in the Gen 4's rear bumper's notch. It's actually quite narrow and most universal mufflers with pre-attached tips will not fit. That's why try to drop by a local muffler shop and get them to test fit anything with attached tips.

also, if you get the ones that have outlets as opposed to tips, you can have any tip you want attached and have them bent/ stepped/ angled however you like to make them fit perfectly.

my current muffler is 2.5" in and out but with a simple, angle-cut, single walled, 4" S/S tip (just a bit of cut-off pipe) tacked directly to the muffler body.
it was cheaper than manufactured tips in the style i wanted and easy to fit.

I had magnaflow on my previous car ( honda prelude 1991 SiR gen III) with dual 4'' tips....it was TOOO loud and droned that bad that I couldnt hear my sub ......wont do that again! see pic 2

on the note of magnaflow? I'm hoping these might fit ? see pic 1

well....I hate to say it...I'm a impulsive buyer when it comes to online buying....and just like counter strike in my day I had a BAD habit of being trigger happy with the mouse.....

this is what I just bought.....

I really wanted quad mufflers.......but I couldn't pass on this price....I rang up about this setup couple of days ago and I got the price down to $900.00 without fitting.....this is a bargain.....to me

including shipping total cost was: - $780.00 from syd

thats you and me both moggz....I havent really heard what the sound like for the liberty....xforce website has samples of there wrx and forester line up muffler systems.....there are borderline on db ( i think it was 89 - 93 db est )....and on you tube....they are LOUD!....but you get the nice boxer sound....I think it's going to be a TAD loud...with my setup...

I'll let you all know how it goes ....wont get installed until another couple of weeks...will let you know if this system is recommended... :?: :?:

I have that on my car with 4" dump and no cats. Nice while cruising and even better when giving it some!

Hey Guyz,

I totally agree....like I said before I think it's a good price...and even with the shipping its a bargain buy...i encourage people to jump on board if your after a cat back system system within a reasonable budget

* 05GTLIBERTY * - - - you got a chance to upload some video clips of your system? and how it sounds on idle / rev???? :)

Hello All,

Thought I might update you on what I've done with my exhaust / muffler system...

1/ purchased xforce cat back system 3 inch

2/ phat dump pipe

3/ decided I didnt like the xforce mufflers ( which I'm going to sell ) and got the magnaflow x2 14815 series ( farken love em!)

4/ the only missing thing now is I might require another muffler somewhere in the centre or a magnaflow hi flow cat ....as I dont want it to be TOO loud or drone...
