Shortshifter 6MT from Subaru catalog

Postby kleinerbastler » Wed Jan 05, 2011 12:10 am

I like to install the orignal subaru short shifter for the 6Mt legy 3.0r.
Now i was looking for prices and parts and i found there are 2 partnumbers for the 6mt shortshifter - C1010AG100 and C1010AG101. Both praised for the 6mt leg 3.0, but which one will be the right one for a 2006MY 3.0?

I cant give you the answer your after as i no longer have the part number for mine. But just incase your not aware (I wasnt, and got quite a shock) that it does shorten the throw and makes the shifts tighter, but it doesn't actually my the stick any shorter. I was hoping it would shorten it to make it a bit neater on the interior. But it doesn't. Just thought id give you the heads up. Assuming your talking about the factory STi s/s.

@Woodduck

Just order it off AVOJDM, cheap as chips.

50 bucks for a new sti gearknob while you're at it too.

The parts relate to bush stiffness, and throw length. AVO has the shorter/harder/harsdest bushes excepting group N.

I love it! It feels much more precise, and seems to know where it wants to go. The day i got it installed I walked up to my car to check out the new 'shorter' stick...when it didn't exist i was extremely close to going back in and having a go at them for not installing it  But then i got in the car and felt it and, man i was glad i didnt go back in  But i would defiantly recommend it!

I have a different part no on my box, ST3501021020 - 6mt STi Short Shift Assembly, this was bought through Subaru Australia.

I've had it for around a year now and very happy, like Woodduck I too was a bit dissapointed that the stick length stayed the same.

Can the stick length just be reduced if thats what your after?? Not being familiar with how these work im not sure, but my guess would be a metal work place could reduce the legth of the stick.

Out of interest can either of you guys let me know how much you paid? PM me if its easier than posting up on here.

I imagine the lift up reverse mechanism would make it very hard to simply 'cut' it shorter? Could be wrong as im not real sure on how the lift reverse works.

I think I paid about $400 for the genuine STi one when Sentenial did a reduced price run through a friend of his. But i cant remember exactly sorry mate.

None of these numbers C1010AG100 and C1010AG101 are STI part numbers

I know that are no Sti numbers, that are "special" Legacy numbers. But it´s great to know the other number from you.
Is there any difference between right and left hand car?

I don't know what point your tring to make here ,weather it be proving me wrong or what have you

BUT

as i said there is only 2 different part numbers for the STI gen4 liberty/legacy short shifter (one for the 5 M/T and one for the 6 M/T) no matter what different dealer/compainies around the world give out as a part number the original part numbers used by these people to order the parts from Japan will be the same starting with the letters .... ST************

your link shows the short shifter under the STI brand which means its an STi part
