Postby libz05 » Wed Jan 12, 2011 11:30 am

hey guys,
i'm currently shopping for some new rims for my my06 subaru liberty 3.0 R-B 2005.
and one thing i'm very confused is are they 125pcd or 100pcd. something to do with tyres.
because the person i've been speaking to asked what month and year the car is, as i dont know.
he says he needs to know because there are 2 models of the car.
look forward to your help guys
thankss

The Liberty is 5x100. That's the stud pattern on your wheels (not your tyres)

The PCD stands for pitch circle diameter. The stud pattern (or PCD) is the pattern your wheel nuts are in. 5 nuts = star shape Image 4 nuts (on older hatchbacks like Mazda Astinas etc)= square Image

The only difference in the liberty's wheels as far as I am aware is between the Libery GT/GT-B and the tbSTi. The standard GT's are 5 x 100mm and the tb STi is 5 x 114.3mm or something.

The only other thing it sounds like you will need to know is the guy at the tyre shop doesn't sound like he knows what he is talking about. lol
Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

All Libertys have 5x100, even the STi version. The only time Subaru ever went with 5x114.3 was for a limited version of the Impreza STi.

But as far as I know, the Gen IV Liberty GT/GT-B/STi are 5x100, which is a shame because most great looking wheels don't come in 5x100.

I stand corrected... But I knew there was a 114.3mm in there somewhere lol.

Gen V is the same.

+1

Go back to the guy and ask if the tires need to have the same offset as the wheels.
