Wouldn't be buying a torque converter locally, as most places here in Aus custom make them. So unless they are willing to back you up 100% should anything go wrong, I'd be getting a unit out of Japan.


With 3200 factory stall, you dont need an different torque converter. What you were experiencing was probably slip due to power at those revs preventing to TC lockup as it would in a stock auto. The only thing that would help this is a LOWER stall, which is then crap for take off (i.e. you can't build as many revs before releasing the brakes).

As Clarence suggested, uprated valve body is where its at, and MV Automatics here in Adelaide can build you a valve body to provide firmer shifts without being stupid firm like most commonwhore/falcadore kits. SillySora is having a box built by them at the moment (or it may even be done) and he is in QLD ;)
