You could make up a trumpet out of PVC piping (which I made for my old Forry once) but im a lazy bastard and this was just a perfect as far as fit & finish is concerned.

HKS Panel Air Filter, fit and finish is first class. Perfect fit in the Air Box (unlike the K&N panel for my old SS Commodore many years ago, it has such a crappy fit!)

The resonator has a small restrictor, about the size of a 20cent coin, it mounts directly under the airbox in the engine bay area (not in the wheel arch)
The HKS Trumpet has a large opening which gets wider and points down and slightly facing the front for a nice air flow up into the panel.

Michael suggested making holes in the fog light surround on the drivers side for a second cold air inlet, Of course I said "Why Not"!
After careful grinding, scraping and cutting from the rear of the fogt light surround Michael left me with a factory looking CAI. Its looks completely stock and unless i point it out to you, you wouldnt notice the mod.

Now I have 2 points of entry for cold air, from the factory intake at top the of the radiator and now from behind the fog light.
The HKS trumpet and panel filter now allow for increased airflow (in preparation for tuning down the track).
When accelerating you can hear the sweet sound of the intake but its not too loud, you need to have your window down to notice it.
In the near future I will be heading towards an auto trans cooler, hard piping kit, HKS SSQ Bov, Dump pipe + tune.
