Postby created » Mon Dec 06, 2010 1:56 pm

Hi guys,

I'm after an original GPS system for a Subaru Liberty 04 model that would fit.
If anyone has one or can point me in the general direction it would be much appreciated :)

cheers

G'day!

As a side thought, might be worth checking out the Carputer thread

A few of us have done some mods and it is way more flexible than the OEM satnav...

This might be of help to you. Much more powerful than just the factory satnav, and half the price.

Mr Cali's effort

Do not go the factory Sat Nav, it's over priced and from what the majority of people say not all that great.
Save some money and get an In car PC like the one in the video :)

That's right Kieran, I'm actually going to attempt to do the same thing as Tai did. I've got all the parts except for the hard-drive so hopefully, with Tai's help, i'll be able to start it early next year.
So : created : that's the way to go.

Yeah i can see the one in the you tube video.
It looks awesome but i don't want to spend $2k on it when i'm going to go double din for the stereo anyway...

And i'd rather have a seperate GPS and stereo if possible

For what reason? An integrated headunit with GPS would solve all issues>

Reason i'd prefer to have seperate systems is i want the stereo to have bluetooth to my phone and i don't want the GPS to stop when a call comes through as i'm on the road for work a bit

I have standard HU and GPS in mine with bluetooth kit. When i receive a call the factory GPS shuts down anyway so that probably wont solve your problem.

Most integrated GPS units won't have that issue - i.e. the unit I am currently selling. GPS voice continues whilst you are on a call.
