I had the boost setting on low (7psi) which puts out something like 220-260 RWKW depends on whose dyno you believe. There are MANY cars out there with that sort of power, and more, that seem not to have any issues with the Kumho's.

I will give them another go and play with the tyre pressure and see if I can get some better results. If not I will sell them off and get some 'real' track only semi slicks.

Possibly an ignorant question but how much difference would 4-5 psi tyre pressure make on the track, what is the sensititivity range?

On my own car with (AWD with RE-001), and that is that with 5psi less in the tyres they were not overheating as often on the same track on the same day.

I.e. started morning with road pressures which were 36/38 F/R, and once I had finished one run the pressures were about 44/44 and squirming like hell. I let them back down to 36/38 (hot) and they were much better. I waited overnight to check the cold pressure and they were down to about 32/33.

On the XR4 (FWD with KU36) we ran 28psi for a more technical track and it worked well the tyres were at around 36/36 when it was hot.

Thanks that's useful information.

Next time out I will play around with the tyre pressures and see what happens.

^ how did you go in the end?

I am now looking for semi slicks, however not just for track work but as a daily driver and for track days once a month, not concerned about tyre wear but more so traction vs noise balance with a 40/60 preference split respectively.
I want a semi slick that is 'relatively quite', hard ask i know, but looking for suggestions.
In the past i have run Azenis RS-V04 and Yokohama A048 as a daily semi slick. The Azenis were 8/10 loud, with 10 being loud and 1 being quite. The A048 were 6/10, my comparison to the OEM Bridgestone RE050A are 1/10

Any other personal comparisons?

ive driven KU36's pretty good street/track tire, 5/10 noise and not that good in wet.
driven Dunlop 03G's. very good track tire. 6/10 noise and okay in wet but tram lines alot.
driven r888's, pretty explainable.
even an Advan AD08's are very good. very good in wet too from experience in torrential rain. and not that loud either...
