Hey All

Been stalking this forum for a while and got myself a Silver MY05 3.0R Liberty Sedan a few weeks ago.

Previous ride was a '96 Commodore VS, so the Liberty is quite a massive step forward in performance and ride quality.

It's currently pretty stock, first weekend involved the usual 3 stage polish and wax, cleaning of the leather and interior to get rid of that greasy used-car-lot-cleaner-feel!

Fitted an Axxess AIP-CLID iPod adapter this weekend to increase the musical options!

Not much of a upgrader, but looking into CarPC options to take advantage of the prime screen position replacing the centre console Cubby.

Otherwise happy with the purchase, here's to a future of many drives through the Adelaide Hills!

Wow your story sounds pretty familiar. My black 3.0R-B should be here on Tuesday, upgraded from a 95 Vs Calais. Absolutely cannot wait.

Interested in the iPod adapter, what can you tell me about it?

Thanks Hamish, I'll take you up on that.

Also, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/iPod-iPhone-3GS-4-Charge-Adapter-Converter-12V-5V-/260689134210?pt=AU_Electronics_Portable_Audio_Accessories&hash=item3cb2488282 will make it charge for you if it has the 12 pin connector but gives the "Not designed to work with" message.

You sir are a legend. I was about to sell my new ipod touch as i planned on having a 32GB hardrive for the computer
It charged my old original ipod (classic massive silver ones) but it died so hopefully this will work :D :D :D :D

Probably after christmas we should have a big cruise, otherwise I'm down in Glenelg way if you want to have a look.

Welcome to the forums Maxwell and congrats on your choice of the 3.0R H6 Liberty ( I'm biased as I used to own one, same colour too ).

Funnily enough loweart, I'm pretty sure this one was yours...

Aluminium pedals, H6 badge on the rear, forum sticker and subaru logo sticker on the rear windscreen.

About 88k km and was originally from QLD (no idea how it ended up in SA so soon after you sold it).

Hey Kent,

Well, well, small world !

I'm over joyed that a forum member has ended up with my previous vehicle as I now know it's gone to a good home.

I struck up a deal with a long time acquaintance who is a car auctioneer and car search broker with a Beemer that was he was about to
put up for auction. Seems like my Lib was picked up by a S.A. dealer/yard.

Well, at least you don't have to worry about front brakes as I had new front disc rotors and pads fitted about 3wks prior to on-selling.
The only thing that was coming up was the 87,500km minor service, otherwise just enjoy driving it as it's never missed a beat !
Your windows have been tinted with 3M film that has lifetime warranty and I changed the headlight and foglight to improved Narva and
Philips/Orasm bulbs. Also, the front and rear sway bars are thicker Whitelines ones which give you better cornering and steering.

Look after her and ENJOY !

Cheers,
Lok

Hey Lok

I have noticed the cornering and steering, nice to know I got some hidden extra's with my purchase!

Quick question, I was installing the ipod adapter on the weekend and noticed the amp was not connected.

From me browsing the forums (stalking, i guess you could call it stalking) I see that you had replaced the speakers and head unit and detached the amp.

Was this purely from a idea to upgrade the amp in the future or was the amp stuffed?

Only asking because I don't want to take the time to remove the seat and connect it back up if it's not all good.

Cheers
Kent.

Hey Kent,

The underseat amp is connected, as I ensured everything was not only returned back to factory, but I also tested the McIntosh stereo and even left a
burnt CDR with about 5 songs on it in the in-dash 6 stacker CD.

The wiring you are referring to that you have discovered is something I deliberately left there for any further owner to re-use if they decide to go down the
path of replacing the McIntoss headunit with something decent. I made up this wiring harness to plug into the back of an aftermarket headunit and then run
down and exit near the factory underseat amp so it can be connected into the speaker input plug for ease of install. There was no value in me ripping this
out of the car when I was taking my stereo out because it was made specifically for the Lib.

So, when are you going to get the itch to improve your sound system of the car

Cheers,
Lok
