Cheap/Easy KW for 04 GT

Hey guys can anyone tell me what some cheap tuning/modification can be done to an 04 GT for quick KW?

New panel filter. Maybe hks brand, only 75dollars, dump pipe, bigger top mount intercooler, then tune.

Hes just sayin search as their is a whole section dedicated to 2.0t engine and hundreds of opinions and options...

No, but if you actually did some research you'd know there are x2 sections you can look on to help you get started. Because your question is extremely vague and obtuse. 'Cheap' is defined differently by each person. Are we talking $10? $100? $1,000? Are you able to accept additional noise and harness with the additional power? Are you after low end or high end power? When you say easy do you mean something you can replace yourself or do you require a mechanic to fit?

In any case, the Modifications section and the 2.0T section. Each has a myriad of users who have posted what they've done. This will give you a sense of what's available, and allow you to gather some ideas on what you're after.

The problem for me is that I work 50-60 hrs a week so I barely have any time to search around and I also use my IPhone when I'm on a break at work to come on here so I figured I'd just ask in this section. sorry to be blunt but $300 will not get you power......... if you want good gains, a full turbo back exhaust will be a good place to start...... that starts at $1500-2000

Hmm, even then that will net you some moderate power gains and a lot of noise. If you're after some solid gains, just save up for a tune. A tune will run off your existing equipment and make the car very driveable without the need to upgrade supporting components. But yeah, expect to pay above the $1,000 mark though.

That's the problem with a turbo car. Smaller, less expensive mods don't provide any significant gains. You have to do the big components to get the power (turbo, tune, intercooler, exhaust, etc).

Tune... Best bang for you buck with no extra noise etc.

Will set you back between $900-$2000 depending on where you go.

If your expecting to get any real gains for $300.00, your dreaming I'm sorry to say.

I can recommend you a tuner in Melbourne who can get some power gains for you through an ECU retune, cost you the vicinity of ~$800. Will give you a lot more lowend power, since you have an 04 you won't gain a lot of top end unless you change the turbo.

Yea I am totally aware that for around $300 I won't gain much wich is why I asked...would I be able to gain some "Minor" kw for that much since I havnt had the liberty gt for long so I don't know a lot bout them. 02 wrx was my previous car on which I installed a cat back on, bigger top mount, piggy back chip etc which Ofcause was well over $300 lol, so I do understand and don't expect to get a great amount of extra power. buy a 70 dollar boost controller and 50 dollar boost gauge and wind up the boost? your engine will not last, will prob get shocking fuel economy, but its a kw gain for minimal price?

aftermarket parts for a WRX is easy, Parts for the newer libertys.. alot harder

I kid you not when I say you can't get much more out of the auto 2.0T, the turbo is that small.

OP $300 gets you a hole saw through the air box, which is something anyway.

In order? say.. Better tyres, dump pipe, front mount, parralell rails, tune.. bigger turbo.. tune.. lol

not really cheap as bru.. and dump pipe should help a little..
