Hey Mike,

I'm sure they're fogs after reading a few review sites months ago. Either way! fogs or reflectors...

Definately please put me down for one :]

Yeah im pretty sure they're fogs too.

Looking at pics they look more like fogs than reflectors to me.

So does that mean we need a switch too?

Wiring should already be there right?

Or would they just come on with the taillights???
Cheers,

Rosso.

That's a hard question to answer, There's a chance the wiring could be there.. but looking at my steering wheel column and the controls for fogs etc, it might be missing so i'm thinking maybe.. you might need a switch for them?

Won't know until we find out more info.

Fogs generally are always independent. You should never have rear foglights on at night - unless you'd like to pronounce yourself as a hyundai wanker who drives a pos excel with one of those lights on. Honestly, it's not HARD to not turn them on.. it does require some effort to get them on than just flicking up and down.

Just like your front fog lights, they only activate when you're on parker setting at least and you turn the frontlight fogs on.

Same concept for rear foglights. I found them useful in very heavy rain when you could barely see anyone infront of you, i'd flick them on to make sure people knew who was ahead etc.

Id have thought if there was a switch it'd be located where the interior light dimmer switch is, theres a few empty spots there. Although i might be mistaken but im pretty sure the outbacks utilise some of those spare spots. :?

Its funny you mention hyundai, the hyundai i got given as a loan car has rear fogs & damn theyre bright. they'd come in handy for reversing in dark areas.
Cheers,

Rosso.

I have a pet hate for any of those small hatchbacks or european cars that use their rear fogs while driving.

It's like - are you SERIOUSLY that daft in the head to turn it on?

That's why i liked my first car.. american car.. crap.. but had 2 big arse rear fog lights.. i'd drive infront of them and turn it on.. have them pull up and abuse me.. i'd wind down the window and ask them if they liked it in their own face.

Please be considerate and only use them when needed in certain conditions :]

It's people like you who would leave them on all the time.. who would provoke stupid people like me who like to be provoked to go make your life miserable..

It's a lose lose situation.. but I like to have the last laugh if possible :p

Though, for these foglights i'm coming from a cosmetic perspective. There's that nice contrast that makes your car stand out a bit more in the crowd with those nice red foglights on the bumper.

I hardly ever turn on my front foglights unless i'm doing country driving or it's in heavy-ish rain. But our foglights aren't even that bright, they more a less seem like extra driving lights that just offer a bit more angle on the sides.
