I was thinking about it, but can't see the point if anything happens here: http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9841%20

I have decided to get a set. Like people have said, it will be about the cheapest suspension upgrade I will ever do. Have to sneak it past the Boss next time I am home from work...

I have the Bils as std on my 08 gtb, on 18" rims, with 215-45 tyres. Before buying this, several people told me the ride was harsh, but neither I nor the missus have any issues with it. Sure there are some sharp responses over railway lines and edges, but 99% of the time its just fine. If you are on smaller rims than mine, the ride will be even better. I also run the tyres at 35psi, up 3 from stock. Apart from the excellent value at $550, the Bils have the added advantage of being rebuildable when they soften up or go off. I have a set waiting in the wings for when mine get tired. I also have a set of Bilsteins on my Porsche 928,on 225-50x16s, run them at 38-40psi, and its ride is HARD, especially on rough suburban roads, but on the highway its like a magic carpet.

I have LCA bushes forward and back both replaced, front and rear swaybars, and brackets on the rear, Billies all round, rear springs reset (Mine had a saggy butt), and runnign the original 17" rims. If the tyres are under 38psi, its a sensational ride.

I have mine much higher than this to get decent wear out of my rubber

38psi on 17" rims? On my 18s I am running 35psi, and approaching 69k kms, which I am led to believe is higher than average life for the Re050A, but maybe thats a furphy?

42psi is my normal pressure and I still wear the inner and outer edges on the front. Much of it is due to the estate I live in where roundabouts are the norm and maybe if I were to slow below the speed limit to take on these monsters my wear would be better, but its boring when the car is so capable.

The front end is tight with no wear that could account for this, just my driving style.

Bilsteins and lower control arm bushes are now at home waiting for me. Pity I won't be there for another two or three weeks!

Rickerty, she picked them up from the freight depot, hasn't queried the cost yet! I should get away with it... I hope.

OK, these are now installed. I didn't make any height measurements prior to fitment, but using my Mk I eyeball I would say the ride height at front and rear is definitely higher.
The car is getting a 1000km trip over the next week or so, I will be interested to see how much it settles in that time.

If it is noticeable I will get the alignment rechecked as I don't want to destroy $1000 worth of pirelli tyres!

I had it done yesterday after the struts were fitted. I might get it rechecked if there is significant spring settle.
