2004 MY04 GT ECU needed

Hi guys,

In a bit of a situation with my '04 GT wagon.

Shortest possible version of the story;
Engine light flashing, told needs o2 sensor by Subaru - Replaced sensor. Engine light still flashing, Told needs the other (i assume rear) o2 sensor - Replaced sensor. Light still flashing - Loom is checked by auto elec, no faults found. Eventually diagnosed as a faulty ECU. ECU sent off for repair - cannot be repaired. They are saying they now need to source one from Japan.

I rang another dealer and got a quote from the parts department for $2148.45 for the ECU. Part number is 22611AH134. They confirmed it needs to be ordered from Japan.

Any other options? have tried a few wreckers but had no luck which didn't surprise me. Are there wreckers/parts stores in japan i could source one from? Does anyone have one lying around after an aftermarket ECU install or are all the options piggyback only?

Welcome - have you tried finding if someone can do a reflash on your ECU?

No, but i'm assuming it's past this.

The ECU has been sent to petroject in Melb who have said it cannot be repaired. Sorry that's about as much info as i have.

try sending it to chiptorque http://www.chiptorque.com.au/ecu_unlock.html and see if they can recover it. Give them a call you never know they might have one lying around there?
