Change AT gear knob?

I've found some nice looking Subaru badge'd (assumed not genuine Subie though) gear knobs for Auto gear sticks and was considering purchasing.
I was just wondering if anyone could give me a guide as to how to change it over if I do purchase them? I'd rather not try to guess my way at risk of messing something up.
