Selling the GT B

Postby Std08GTB » Wed Oct 06, 2010 4:40 pm

Hi Guys, I'm most likely selling the GT-B next week and have an offer on it.

What do you think it's truly worth?

2008 MY08 (Feb 08 build)
GT Spec B
70,000kms
Semi-Auto
Tinted windows all round
Pearl White
Tuned by STI @ Docklands (complete with sticker on the back) 12kw ATW extra
Not flogged, just a commuter
Half-life Hankook tyres
Mud flaps and mats
Nil crash history. Tiny door dint but otherwise perfect.

Suggestions? Be realistic...

I want to know if I'm doing the right thing :D

Your KM's are far higher than the average listed, and your not going to get any extra money for having it been tuned by STi Docklands.
If it's been serviced at regular intervals, and has been serviced recently....33k-37k is realistic.
Having said that I haven't checked carsales since I bought my car, so just look at the prices on their and base your price off that. (don't want to disappoint myself  )

If you are happy to sell for 33k then go for it, I'm not sure what the demand is for 08 GT-B's, if there are plenty on carsales and you don't want to compete then take the offer provided you are happy with it and buy something else. :assassin:

Sold!

To be replaced with a WRX Premium. I can't stand the look of the new Liberty.

You could call it a down-grade, but I don't like the shape of the new Liberties.

I'm not sure what else to buy. There is a thread running on that very same issue elsewhere in this forum.

Have you tried to do a deal on an MY10 STi?

With the much improved MY11 on the way, I know for a fact that dealers are keen (and are being helped to get rid of them by Subaru Aust).

The STi is a MUCH better car and right now won't cost a lot more.

Might just get the WRX Premium. It's around $14k less expensive so around $140 less a month on a lease.

tuned by sti is actually sold stock with a ecu tune, enkei's,brembos etc.

tuned by sti @ dockland is just a GT or GTB that went to the dealer and had it tuned.

That's right.

When Vinnie worked at Docklands he used to do "V tunes" but he's not there any more so they don't do them.

That being said though it was around 205 kw after the tune which is more than the stock STI, just no brembo's and gucci stitching.

On the big Melbourne cruise a while back I was happily keeping up with the others with their fat exhausts, massive brakes and range of enhancements and mine was an Auto, so the tuning definitely made a difference.

I also had that brake shudder at high speed that the B-Spec's tended to have, not sure if a rotor shave will even fix that issue, particularly when they are hot after a flogging. I really did punish that car on a daily basis however it stood up to it reasonably well.

On a side note too the Hankooks seemed to be lasting longer than the original Bridgestones and probably a little more stickey and quieter.

I'm getting a Rex from Tasmania, there are no sedans anywhere north of Tasmania at the moment in Premium configuration.

Whoever the new owner is  I'm glad they got a flogged car

Any closer to deciding your new vehicle STD08? It doesn't come with wings does it...

I bought a WRX premium, sedan, should get it next week.

Who says a "just a commuter" can't be flogged on a day to day basis???
