Its funny you say that about the Spec B, i have a spec B wagon and the +1 hates the rough and tumble of the suspension, and wants something softer and more cushion like, maybe i should go GT setup.. not...
At the moment i feel a little underwhelmed with the handling of the Spec B, it feels boat like, i have come from a Renault clio sport, which handles like a go kart, so maybe thats my problem. I have installed a whiteline ALK and rear adjustable swaybar, perhaps i need front adjustable sway bar as well, like your setup, may solve the roll like feel.

Do you find your sti lip scraps alot?

Bilstein/TEIN combo is sensational! if it allowed for more camber adjustment and to go lower, I would not be moving on to coilovers!

The ride is perfect(bare in mind I have front and rear sways and front and rear strut braces as well though), and I've scraped the lip maybe 3 times in 18 months? The clearance is suprisingly good but then, I am used to driving somewhat lower cars with less clearance, so I am generally pretty cautious!

Have you fitted lowered springs yet? front swaybar is going to make less difference than the rear, but is certainly still worth fitting! I will be suprised if you are underwhelmed with the handling if you have already fitted lower springs... I reckon mine handles as good as, if not better than any of my WRX's ever did!
Although, even with as much suspension gear as money can buy, you're still not going to get around the fact that its a significantly bigger and heavier and longer wheel-based car than your baby Renault...

No i have not fitted lowered springs yet, the Teins springs look mighty tempting, but i have played with the idea that if i change springs then i might as well go the whole distance and get Tein coilovers, as i would hate to get the Teins and then decide that i really wanted the coilovers. I also like the idea of in car adjustable dampener with the EDC module.

Before the GT Wagon (now a GT half-B as i have the bilsteins but not the 18" wheels) I had a GTB Sedan (both MY07) and the sedan was noticeably more nimble than the wagon. Interestingly I found the SpecB sedan to be a little harsher too. In my noobish mind I put it down to the wagon being a bit heavier so the springs maybe have a bit more give in them?!? Don't know if the 17" vs 18" wheels makes any difference to the handling.

As for the clio...it is a go cart!...You wouldn't look out of place driving it with a big moustache and a red hat with the letter M on it :D

If you liked the clio then try a Suzuki Swift.

While front sway bar didn't make the massive difference the rear did, it noticeably refined the whole front / rear roll balance. Prior to fitting the front sway the nose of the car didn't feel as planted, in fact it felt quite twitchy when cornering.
Started with a Gen2 Outback, then got a MY07 GT Spec.B Manual w Cat Back Exhaust and Verso Tuned, now got 2 kids and a MY07 GT Auto Wagon, Ultrex stealth back exhaust, panel filter, Whiteline Sways all round, Spec.b struts and springs and Kido-Tuned.

very stiff

feel just about every bump on the road due to zero flex

better option for a daily driver would be a the AVO/Whiteline/Phat ones.

doing just the rear sway without the fronts will give u a tendency to over steer.

if you had an adjustable suspension setup (fiddle fiddle with damper settings) you could partially correct it.

There's no point doing strut braces or front sways until you change the springs at least...

That WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!

+1. Braces should be the last mod after everything else.

Now torn between the two...

A)
Front lower arm bushes
H&R Springs
Front and rear sway bars

B)
Tein springs
Bilstein struts

Remember my aim was around $1200, dropping the car a bit (mainly the rear) and making the handling alot more precise and less pillowy without reducing comfortability to much.

what ever option to go with make sure you get the front lower arm bushes done....... one of the best mods to do
