Postby vp920b » Wed Sep 01, 2010 1:22 am

Hi All,

Have anyone try DIY Paint Wheels?

I want to paint my wheels that will coming up soon.

And I need suggestion. My car paint is dark green mica, better paint it black or gun metallic?

Thank you

TBH, I'd invest in the money to get them powder coated. But if you have the time, patience, resources, and skill, by all means!

Powder coated costs around $100 per wheels.

And DIY around $100 for 4 wheels.

But we'll see. The goods haven't arrive yet and I still figure out the color.

Cheers Jim.

Honestly, you spend a couple of grand on good quality wheels. You really want a DIY paint job on it? :P That's like people who spend thousands on wheels and then get $50 tires.

And something about a dark green car with black wheels. Just wrong. I vote for gunmetal. :D

Yeah, I understand. But I want to try something by my self. hehe. :D

Gunmetal seems pretty good color match. But I try to find out shops that do paint wheels and cheap.

Cheers Jim
