Can anyone offer some reasons NOT to do this? I have looked at the finances & that's ok. Any other reasons?

- The car would be alot harder to sell. Not that many people in the market for the car in comparison.
- Insurance and excess would be alot higher
- Running/servicing and maintenance costs would be high
- 20's would cost a lot to replace rubber especially what brand and width they would need

Truthfully mate, it's 100% your choice at the end of the day.

By posting this, I'm guessing your pretty keen on the car. So IMHO, if you can afford it, go for it :D You only live once remember.

It's a British made car. It will lubricate your driveway at some point :p

It will likely handle worse than your GTB.

Since the offer arose I've been following Jag's up & downs over the last few decades, seems as though when Ford took them over they got an influx of money for R&D. From there supposedly quality of build & quality of product improved to such a point that Jag overtook Lexus on customer satisfaction surveys. I realise this doesn't give me everything but the old adage of buying two jags, one to use & one to be under repair, may be a thing of the past. I've never really considered Jag much as I didn't like the retro styling even in the previous XJ the car had an all aluminium shell, same as this XK but that XJ still had retro styling.

Other than servicing there have apparently been no major issues, new tyres have been recently applied.

When I bought my GTB-R I was not really shopping for a car but ended up coming across a black Subaru 6 speed with SatNav & stability control, I could handle the financing so got serious & took it on, My plan was to pay it off within the year, still on track to do this.

So unless anyone knows of a reason to keep away from this particular model then it comes down to what I get for my GTB-R & financing arrangements.

Redbook offers these figures on my car though I know what I get for the car is what someone is willing to pay. I'm in the KM range as I'm just ticking over 20k now.

* Private Price Guide $41,800 - $45,700
* Average Km 15,000 - 25,000

Anyone got any thoughts?

If you want it, can easily afford it and are willing to spend the money for it (purchase), get it. It won't be a bad car to own and you'll have that nice feeling of owning an example from an old luxury brand. A nice looking car too

Well for many years I worked in IR until I formed my own company & ended up doing a multitude of OTHER things.

32k? Clearly you missed the figures I posted :) Perhaps I can just hand you the car as a gift to you just to make your day, though seems white is your colour, so sad, too bad!

Also no kids, there shall be no wife & the woman has her own career. It's amazing what you can afford when your liabilities are reduced :)

Expensive habits though tend to be Hi-Fi equipment, camera & lenses, interconti hotel rooms in HK & good food. Demonstrated by me being such a fat bastard!

Got to say I often get ripped on this room, first time was $600.00 then $780, then closer to 1k, they give me different prices based on the season apparently. :angry2:
