Need cheap but good tyres for a 3.0r-b - where to buy?

Postby wixy » Wed Aug 04, 2010 5:06 pm

I am looking for some low priced but decent tyres for my 2005 Liberty 3.0r-b. Would prefer something relatively quiet and long lasting.

I've heard the KU31's are good - is this the case?

Are there any other options in the $200 range?

Also, what shops in Melbourne can I go too that will have suitable tyres at good prices? I've read the KU31's can be had from QLD/NSW for $150 but can this deal be had anywhere in Melbourne?

KU31s are a bargain for the asking price at Option1 and they will freight them anywhere in the country.

Also look at Hamish's thread, $225 for RE050As that have just been driven on and off boats is also a steal.

I'm looking at getting a set of Falken FK452's for $235 at Bob Jane in Box Hill. From what I've heard they're very good eco performance tyres. Decent wear, good dry and wet grip. I'd maybe consider those. Here's a review link to those tyres and others for your consideration...

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm thinking Ku31's might be a goer.

But can I get them in a size to suit 2005 3.0r-b oem rims?

Falken is a good tyre. I used that one in my hometown.

But the problem in Australia is very expensive.

For that price tag, maybe I end up getting the Adrenalin. IMHO

KU36's would get my vote especially for the price they are going for (Approx $220 - $260).

FK452's are actually a fantastic tyre & rate quite well in all the tests, but haven't had them on an AWD car so not sure how they perform compared to other tyres.
