got myself a MY05 lib GT recently which is currently stock as a rock!
if i was to go and get a tune, what sort of dollars are we talking? and will i really notice the difference?
i have just switched from a xr6 which i am used to always haveing a nice amount or torque when needed, where as i find now driving the lib that it has alot of flat spots, not all that happy with the preformance! ... must add great off the line though.
nice to meet u all

cheers

west_minist wrote:These are really two different car. Tuning the 2GT will give you power all around, but it will not come close to the XR6 due to turbo size and liters. You can try tuning and see how you like it. I am not sure what the charge in your country, but in my remote services to customers, its around $400USD to start basic tuning. The legacies carries dual maps for fuel, boost, ign and so forth.

I have tuned a number of them, and below is such one. http://www.xtremeracingtuning.com/forum ... 22a3802a78

This is the only custom I have that has gone further and want to go even further in delivery. Everyone just want a tune for the gas with some power. :) You will see some of his comments on that forum.

All I can say that the car will improve tremendously over stock, but in comparison to the XR6, I am not sure how close, as the spec online on this model looks like a STI.

Good luck.

thanks for you quick reply,
the xr6 i had wasnt a turbo model though. but that is some helpful info, very informative!
thnx alot

Sometimes I wonder because of the reduce power of the Subaru, is what makes it reliable for many years and 100,000's kms. Nothing replaces cc's.

well mine has just done 211,000 k's, so hopefully its still got a bit more life in it!!
is there anything that i should be weary of when its done up around that sort of k's???
it has been serviced every 15000ks with subaru. i jus get worried if i do spend more money on it am i going to have problems, or am i best to get rid of it and get something a bit newer?
cheers

Nothing at all. You know, you have the minor aged stuff, but you know, it getting down. But the service schedule is what make a car last.

I know people with them over 400k+ and still running like yesterday. Just seals changes and so forth. No major engine work. I think it maybe value for money. Some cars don't even last 5yrs. So many damn problems that it sickens you.

All I can say to you, look at the money you spend annually and go from there. But I find older Subaru's last longer.

The XR6 turbo can quite easily and safely produce 300kw atw with little more than increased boost. There are many in Australia running some massive numbers on this engine, though not all that much more than many have gotten from the 3.0 twin turbo Supra
