Air suspension playing up (non existent)

Postby scott_1971_h » Fri Jul 02, 2010 11:04 pm

Hi,
I have a '91 Wagon, 2.2, manual, etc., and over the last 2 weeks by rear suspension has been collapsed down to the bumpstops - 75% of the time. I can back it out of the drive (on bumpstops), drive it for a few Ks, (all on bumpstops, I think they should be renamed bumpstarts - seriously, uncontrollably bumpy) and then... suddenly it sorts itself out and I actually have, like, a suspension. Park the car, all OK, the back doesn't go down until I return from the shops/work, and I'm on the bumpstops again.

Does anyone know what is happening?

I think some steel springs look good at the moment. It's really starting to get to me, if you know what I mean. :angry2: :angry2:    :?: :?: :?:

Thanks,
Scott

Don't get offended if you don't get any useful reply's on this forum, you might be best asking the same question on either the Ozliberty or the RSLiberty Club.
This forum has by far more owners of the Gen4 liberty's than any of the other generations where as the others especially RSLiberty Club has by far more owners of your Generation.

Sorry I couldn't have been any help :(

I've got a set of stock RS liberty springs lying around.

You could get Buy them, and a cheap set of Excel G or some WRX/STI struts and for $400 you'll have totally gotten rid of the airbags. They suck, they will break again if you fix them. Salvage what parts you can and sell to some sucker who hasn't realised they suck yet.

I'm struggling to remember what strut tops the airbags had though. You might need a set of those too.
