Changing Spark Plugs

Hi All,

My Mechanic is looking for some info around changing spark plugs on a 2004/2005 Liberty GT Auto. Or can anyone recommend a mechanic in the Sydney area.

what sort of information is he looking for?

The chassis rails makes it a tight fit to get to the plugs (the rear ones in particular) without dropping or lifting the engine but it can be done (3 hours for me to do a H6 for example - but it was the first time I'd done that and took my time learning). I've been advised in the past (I think it was Phat actually) to lift/drop one side of the engine at a time (only a bit though - it doesn't need to come right out) as it can be a pain to line the engine and mounts back up afterwards.

Thanks for info, he was looking to find out how the hell do you do it. But what i have seen from you guys might help. I might still try and find someone that can do the job. Or has done the job.

thanks for the input, his a good mechanic bit of an older style, i trust this guy more than any subaru mechanic. His really a drag car specailist only does my lib as favor. His capable of the job but not happy lifting or tilting the engine. Just wanted to know if that's how its done.

I would prefer he asked for advice then return a few hours later to find the engine out of the car and huge labour bill

Don't know if the H6 is different from the 2.0L block, but when my mechanic and i changed my spark plugs on my 100k there was no way we could do it without lifting the engine a bit. We also changed the cam seals as 1 was leaking - jeez that's a bugger of a job!!!

done my plugs over the weekend took an hour to do, no need to lift engine. just follow the instructions from previous post and you shouldn't have a problem
