Mate, I hope you manage to sort your shit out. You do realise that YOUR attendance was one of the primary reasons for choosing this date!

I'll be freezing my arse off and (most likely) cursing at stupid timing software on Sunday. Hope you lot have a good deal of fun

Talking with swingn and senator yesterday reminded me of something I had forgotten to warn you lot of. Just east of Sodwalls (one of a few little spots with a half dozen houses by the road) there is a really nasty dip at a creek crossing. It is deep and has steep approaches from either side.

I would advise to SLOW DOWN to a crawl (I am right back to 1st in my car) otherwise at best you will very roughly bottom the suspension out.

Coming from the west you will pass through the hamlet and down to a single lane bridge over a railway line which is immediately followed by a 90 degree right hand bend. See streetview shot
Railway bridge

The creek crossing and dip are a hundred metres or so down the road.
Dip

In addition to that bastard there are one or two others that are a little rough if taken at more than 60km/h. If you see a "Dip" warning sign, you should excercise the necessary caution.

Good to hear he is back for another cruise.

At present we have 8 confirmed, 2 possible and then there are the people whom NoOzL will bring.

I expect to have about 10 - 12 on the day.

Guys, after speaking to the HSV GTO driver who happened to be a Bathurst resident we may need to change the route pending if the creek crossing noted by Smythie above are flowing with water. He also noted that creek crossing are passable by lowered cars with reduced speed.

Also black ice is forming both on Bells line of road and on many of the road throughout Oberon, this shouldn't be much of an issues are long as they sun is out and we are not running too late on the return trip.

Creek flowing? Wow, I can't say I remember seeing water in that dip before. Unless it has been peeesing down, I'd say you'd be fine.

A revision - As before but instead of going all the way into Tarana, turn off into a back way into Oberon then take a slightly different run into the back of Lithgow

Another revision - This time, continue into Tarana but take a left on the way out of the hamlet and up Diamond Swamp Rd/Tarana Rd to the GWH. I *think* I may have done this road 8 years ago but can't remember anything of it. Street view seems to indicate it is (single lane) sealed the whole way though. Food for thought
