Hello:

Is there anyone who would be interested in having their 2.5T tuned?

I have a great tuning back ground (4+ years) in Subaru's and would like to offer alternative tuning to the local tuning community.

I am based out of Barbados and been performing remote tuning around the world, from Australia to Canada. My service offers complete custom tuning for your car. No based maps. I tune more than boost and Ignition, as you will see there. If you research online my name west_minist, you will see alot of my work, even AVCS tuning that has help many tuners to review tuning these maps.

In addition, I perform custom DBW tuning. Just changing these maps, makes a world of difference.

how do you tune cars without a dyno? or without even having the car there to tune?

I'd say it is safe, under certain circumstances.

1) The tune is conservative
2) The weather/atmospheric conditions the tune is developed are the same as what the receiver will have
3) The receiver knows the risks involved, and can easily load the map on.
4) The reciever has a knocklink (or ability to confirm knock)
5) The recieiver has the ability to data-log.

Then there's less important elements
6) The reveiver has a wideband
7) The reciever has an accurate boost gauge.

Personally given the fragility of the ring lands on a standard 2.5L piston, I wouldn't even consider it unless I had no 4. Thus I've highlighted it. Severe detonation will ruin an engine in less than 10 seconds.

I'll add at this point that this is simply an internet forum and this is only my opinion, however informed I consider it to be.

Remote tuning sometimes can be no different if the tuner is actually there.

In remote tuning, things are done conservatively and tuning is only as good as the person driving the car.

In respect to conditions, any tuning is done at that moment. As the environment changes as time goes along, you can resent logs where updates are applied.

In turbocharging tuning, if the customer has a WB, is great. If the tuner is experience with these models, sometimes its not needed, because there are tell tale sign of fueliing, especially in knocking, which the ECU will pick up and the log will show that.

Conservatively tuning allows you to reach that point of the tuning, where you know thats the max of the tuning and you can then add a safe margin for varying conditions.

I personally have not now started remote tuning, but been doing it for years.

In tuning, customers gets a change to see how the car is performing stock wise and even throughout the tuning. In essence, you would be surprise that the stock car is working poor, knocking and pinging all the way.

A dyno is not needed as you are road tuning a car. In motorsports. many times the tuner is not there and you send logs to them.

The customer drives the car, send the logs. The tuner tunes the ecu rom, resend it. You upload it to the ECU and the process begins all over again.

I have had my previous car (MY00 wrx) tuned remotely by a tuner in the UK and now Edward is tuning my current vehicle remotely as well.

The Tactrix can log quickly enough to capture the required data for Edward to analyse.

He can see precisely where work needs to be done in the tables and adjusts timing and fuelling to suit. You will most definitely see/feel improvements on the 2nd or 3rd maps.

If you are still unsure. Beg, borrow or steal a Tactrix cable and do some logging to see what the ecu is doing. It is completely safe.

The quality of the tuner being the same, I would argue that you will get a MUCH better tune from the analysis of many hours of logs ... than a few pulls on a dyno.

A dyno is great for tuning WOT but there's more to a good tune than that.

Tuning on the road will obviously take into account actual day to day driving conditions and your driving style. Not to mention ambient air temperatures as well.

Not really. Once the Dyno can hold a RPM, you can tune loads (ign, avcs, fuel, etc) laterally. Once finish, you have to finish up with a road tune.

But with all of that being said, do anyone have any logs, dyno's or even have the possibility of wanting to be tuned?

I spend an extensive amount of time going through logs that customers present to me to fine tune their cars. You will also lean a lot if you want too. I know people can be a little fearful or look at risk a lot or just TRUST issues.

At the present moment I have tuned quite a few 3R and that information is on here. But I still have people overlook all of that content to ask me questions in fear and doubt. This I find totally interesting, because you can track each customer I have dealt with and you can contact them, unless persons feel I am that person too????

Ok. guys.

I have some time to tune these models at the moment, as the STI's and 3R's come to completion.
If you have any gear pulls, please let me know. I need to see the boost and power curve for these models.
