SI Drive thoughts

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Well it does control throttle opening, which will indirectly affect how much boost you get! :D

Hahaha yes yes Adrian. I would love to. My car is the R&D car for PHAT MAN!

Will hopefully get those goodies soon.

from driving my bro's car a fair bit.....this is what i think.....

[I] - crap

[S] - not really responsive unless u plant the petal - in which case the car accelerates quite hard

[S#] - really responsive, but if u plant it, it doesn't pull as hard as [S], but sort of sits there and revs its tits off

this is with an 07 3.0L RB, so not sure if its the same thing in the GT's

i personally think an option between [S] and [S#] would be ideal 8)

That sounds about right brendan.. funny enough..

but revving the tits off things is fun right? :p

I think i have VTEC in my car.. Very Tall Engine Coolant.. you know.. I engraved STi into my compliance plate.. makes it lighter and faster with hp bonuses! :p :p

just put an ST[i] and it'll feel fast ;)

Phil, mines manual.

You do notice a difference in s#, it loves the revs when revs when driving, and when you're putting the foot down to overtake or something and you're in [S] it feels like it's just missing something..

If you're accelerating and hit [S#] you feel a small kick in the car :]

Jimmy, tiptronic is crap if you're at the lights and forget you're in gear 5 :p

Exactly - even if a boost guage shows less boost - it can still be done through regulation of the throttle butterfly.

I accept I mode would perhaps introduce some control of the AVCS, but S and S# feel sooo similar - just at differing levels of right pedal :)

MoGT - what do you mean no full throttle on S#???

The throttle does not open fully in any mode can't remember exatly how much it opens but from memory the max it would open in a std car was around about 75 to 85%. I'm no expert but this is one of the adjustments that ecu re-tunners make.
