I like the auto wipers on the GT - I've been impressed by how well they adjust. Very good in passing showers... The auto headlights I don't care much for...

The module that controls your car is from this company. I checked it out on http://www.xenso.com. Aparently, the manufacturer (Xenso) of this product makes for Subaru and Lobian1 is the Subsiduary. Opal AV seems to be the authorised exclusive distributor http://www.opalav.com.au.

Hey Tek. True. How do people forget?

I got them because when I / my wife drive into underground carparks, it is pretty good that the lights switch on Automatically. No Subaru does that.

With the wipers, it comes with dual sensitivity control so you dont have that issue you guys are mentioning.

I drive into long tunnels and they are instant. Come out of the tunnel and they switch off within a second. I notice Holdens and Fords with Auto Lights and they stay on for ages or dont come on for a while.

It may not be suitable for everyone, and i understand. but if you check out http://www.xenso.com you will notice that the same company makes them for a large amount of car manufacturers.

For what I paid, its a great feature. When I sell my car one day (hopefully the next GT Liberty will look normal) these features would attract buyers. they are a feature that all German cars have.

You do know the MY10 GT has this as standard now aswell as the auto wipers?
It's a nice touch but something I can easily live without as our headlights are on always and have always been for all the Subarus I've owned.

I actually just had one of these kits installed only a few weeks ago, and I must say I'm really loving the auto lights and wiper feature on my GT. My kit is the same as the one from the opalav.com.au site.

When i first heard about them thru a friend, I wasn't sure how much I'd benefit from them, but after having them on the car for the past few weeks I gotta say it's a pretty cool mod. The kit comes with a manual over ride on/off switch for both the lights & wipers , and the module also has manual sensitivity settings. After a bit of tweaking, the setting is perfect. The auto wipers aren't annoying at all, they only come on when it detects sufficient amount of rain. As you increase your driving speed or as the rainfall intensifies, the wipers adjust their speed accordingly. No more annoying manual adjusting the of the wipers as your driving along. The sensors do all the work.

The auto lights are also a cool feature, mine comes on in 2 stages. 1st Stage: Parkers on (if not completely dark outside) 2nd Stage: All lights on.

Stage 1 is pretty cool when I enter a carpark, and the parkers come on which also turns on the accessories & control lights, so i can see all the interior controls (or maybe I just like admiring the lights on the macintosh system in our suby's lol...). Still, I think it's a pretty handy feature in my books.

The sensor itself is just a small black square which is mounted on the windscreen just below my rear view mirror (just where my e-tag normally sits) with quality clear 3M adhesive. It's so small that it's hardly noticeable mounted behind the mirror. Install looks very neat & "factory".

Haven't had time to post up any pics, but will be happy to if anyone wants to see the install.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this mod. It's just one of those added extras that make my Suby a bit more pleasurable to drive

personally like to control my wipers myself.
dont like the auto wiper feature, mums Merc has it.

As for lights, mine never go off.
Yanks found a reduction in accidents by something stupid from having lights on all the time.
Its also why you see bikes all have hard wired lights now in Australia.

This car dealer is selling it to new customers for $699 as a add-on when buying a new car. We should respect the company for their policy and if you get a price, dont post it as its not the right thing to do. All i can say is it was less than half this price AND MORE.

Did anyone else think it was weird to tell us not to post the price, and immediately afterwards state they paid less than half the cost?

I understand you have just said that if we get a price much lower than the product retails for it is not the right thing to do by posting it in a public forum. I get that.
But then why tell us (by using my basic math skills) that you paid less than $350? That's a but hypocritical IMO.

But it's great to see you excited about new mods to your car. We need more people like you trying new things as it gives many forum lurkers great ideas for their rides

What I was trying to say is that i did a ring around to see how much this thing sells for and it was between $300 - $400 in the shops that were on the website i googled. http://www.opalav.com.au But because I got it direct, I didnt want to post the price I paid to respect the distributors policies. Thats all.

Let's not all get tied up with this and please accept my apology for being harsh.

I love being in control of the wipers. I'd hate it for the wipers to come on when its not wet enough.

I just dont get how drivers forget to turn on their headlights. Everytime i get in or out of the car, i always check the headlights, fuel, engine temp, windows, parking brake etc.. yet i cant believe how so many drivers out there ain't awear of these little things. Maybe some weren't meant to be driving AT ALL???

Can you please respect people? Why is there so much unpleasanty in people? I have a feature that is new to Subaru's and others have purchased it and it works good. Calling people a dumb ass personally attacking people is not nice. I have not done that to you.

Since you are so perfect, but dont know much about this thing I bought, I will explain to the people that will say (Oh thats not a bad gizmo or Dont need it).

Autowipers. These will not go on when you dont want them to. That is why they have a hi / low sensitivity control for the driver to decide. As per what Spec B said. How can you not like Autowipers? Its personal i suppose. But without them here is a perfect scenario.
1. Pull out of driveway and there is a sprinke. Put on Interims....
2. Drive 2 mins and the rain is a bit more. Put on Interims.... to be more regular.
3. Go down the main street or be behind a truck / 4 x 4 and you need to now put your wipers on speed 1 (if you have run our of Interim.... adjustment).
4. 3 mins later, you dont want the stupid wipers going continually, so you flick them back to Interims....

How exciting can that be? Not.

Auto lights. With all our cars, we have the Auto off. But in the morning, we need to switch the light switch back so the lights dont stay on. What is wrong with the car doing it for you? Also a good featyre as others have said is when going into underground car parks. The inside lights up so people like you can see your fuel, engine temp and ytour gadgets.

You are right though. I dont know how people forget to put their lights on at night. Weird.

But this is not for that purpose. I am enjoying it based on what I mentioned above. For a few hundred dollars, I think its great.
