Hi all,

rather than I make a new thread, I thought just explain my problem here.

I just had a problem. I was in Burwood highway, in front of K-Mart. Run 80K's, then I brake hard, since a red light is coming.

Then when I brake a bit hard, there is a loud sound come from my brake or left front side. I thought my head lamp came off. But then I stopped, check my headlamp, nothing happened.

Then I thought, maybe one of my brake pad screw gone off, since last time I use a substitute screw, because the original screw I broke it. But then I also think that maybe one of the mica head lamp from inside, got off(from the accident, the plastic head light broke into pieces and it still inside the headlight).

Tomorrow morning will give a look.

Maybe other got another idea? Then my head light also turn off. Damn China product from Autobarn.

Thanks

Naldo

Has it made the noise since then? Need some more info to work out what it is; sometimes it can be some debris stuck in the brake pad or perhaps some glazing which requires a few firm brake applications to wear off.

Hmm, no noise after that but I'm afraid if I push brakes suddenly because of from green to yellow lights.

Then about my china lamp, seriously pain in the As*. One lamp are dead and I thought, OK, put the old one.

Then the other one, I also want to put the original, just put it back all as original, but suddenly nightmare came.

The headlight socket was burned, the lamp dun know why can be out from the place and hard to pull it out until my lamp lock was broke.

So now my 1 headlight doesn't lock and socket was burn.

Can I only fix the lock and the socket?

I'm totally angry, mad, but also sad. Problem keeps going to my car.

Thanks

Shit man, what are these China lamps you talk about? They look like normal H7 globes to me... or did you buy grossly over wattage ones which have burnt out your harness with the heat? (65W is the highest you should push it with the stock headlights).

You can get a new harness from Narva they sell them at Autobarn etc, it is just the black plastic plug with leads already in it. You then cut your stock plug off and solder the new one in, they aren't very expensive at all.

As for the bulb clip and the plastic bit of the headlight it screws into, if you break that then you need a new headlight unless you so happen to find someone who can sell you just the projector assembly. Hopefully it's your passenger side that broke, which you have to replace anyway???

Bad luck Naldo once you get all this stuff fixed perhaps don't do any mods for a while. After the last thing I broke I quarantined myself for almost a month :)

p.s. If you want someone to check your brakes out let me know I can refer you to a really good workshop in Burwood which is not far from you. It's a couple of old dudes who really take their time to do stuff carefully and they don't charge much at all.

Far out Naldo you are not having any luck at all.

Good Luck bro and I hope it's up hill from here now.

Let us know about that noise that you suspect it is coming from your brakes. VERY INTRESTING.....

depending on how hard you hit the brakes it could have been the ABS kicking... it's like a mechanical fart from one (or more) corner.

the other option on the headlight plug is that the terminals weren't connecting properly and were arcing... that'll melt plastic really easily when the contacts heat up.

The one that are broke is on the driver side.

Don't know why this happening but I'm still waiting for my headlights from US. Then after that will change both lights+go to body panel for repaint and stuff.

Cheers

I went to autobarn and get a refund.

The supplier for the china made globe said I need to put his relay or something. Well, that relay is a really long cable that I can't put in my headlight.

Stupid design.

Well about the socket, I just use it, it's still usable. Now just wait for my headlight.

Thanks all.

the relay would be due to the fact they are over wattage lightglobes. It prevents the wire melting which u have.

The other downside is that the extra heat will scorch your headlamp assembly inside and also the polycarb lens. Prob a good thing they melted your wiring so u didn't keep using them.

But it's funny Jim.

The other light which has the same age, are not burning at all.

It's still like a brand new condition.

Really weird..

But yeah, pretty much happy with the refund.
