Clock issues

Postby darcy » Thu May 06, 2010 8:47 pm

i am having an issues with the clocks in my car.

i have the my08 liberty with sat nav,

i have set the timezone on the nav and it displays the correct time all the time.

but the clock down on the radio display sometimes will have the right time, but most of the time when you turn on the car it will display one hour slow (daylight savings time), but then after driving for a little bit of time it will change and display the correct time.

i have read the manuals but can't seem to find an answer.

and help would be nice, Thanks

IIRC the clock is reset to the time set by the SatNav unit.

Check the SatNav is on the correct timezone, and that Daylight Savings is correctly set on the SatNav.

If the clock still exhibits the same behaviour, as soon as you switch the car on where there is no GPS signal (carpark, etc) try and set the clock to the correct time.

thanks for the help guys,

i am not travelling through any timezones,
i will try setting the time before it gets any satellites, not sure if this will work as the sat nav always displays correct time, fingers crossed as it is an annoying little issue.

hello again,

what i tried was going to an undercover car park so as to not have any gps signal.
i then went to change the clock and here is the stupid thing, on eastern timezone the clocks match, as do they on the western time zone.
but when i put it to the central timezone one goes to daylights saving and the other does't. i turned the daylight saving time on an off and changed the time multiple times but for some reason this problem still occurs.

it is very annoying have the time right for about half the time.

AH!

CST triggered a memory!

I'm sure I've seen someone else post about the same problem... I can't find anything here with a quick search though... definitely contact Subaru as it sounds like a firmware bug.
