I think it's just for driveability.

HEHE Fish, I told ya High boost would be scarey....

Its only throttle response. Gear kickdown won't change cos that engine braking. RE power increase, no added power increase, but it will help you get there faster.

RE group, rrp is approx 550.

Yeah prova/effiel make one. We were originally going to try that one first, but we found this.
The effiel is adjustable, price around the samish but the downside is that you have to splice into the loom, you have to literally Bag it (put in a plastic bag) and the adjustability is not accessible. looking at the install its a bitch...

Vs plug and play.....

From what I read it just feels like driving with WOT all the time? Is this the case?

Agreed about the install Frankie! PnP ftw!

hey guys - I fitted my SprintBooster tonight (thanks Franky!), and I can really vouch for this product (MY05 manual).

The car is really responsive - the surge of power is almost immediate. I'm guessing it'd shave 0.7 to 1 sec off the 0-100kph time (I counted in the high 5sec bracket as opposed to usual mid/high 6sec bracket), but someone with a G-Tech can probably confirm. It's abit colder here in Canberra at the moment though.

0-100kph isn't everything - It's great to only have to partially press the throttle and feel the surge of power in any of the first 4 gears (mind you, you notice the fuel economy figures soaring even on part throttle!). didn't really get to test 5th gear out.

For those of you worried about city driving, I honestly don't think it'd take too long to adjust to the additional responsiveness. In the wet when accelerating out of corners, I guess you have to take some caution. And take it easy in carparks too.

Fitment is easy. I did as Franky suggested and fitted it when the car was cold. Disconnected the battery, fit the SprintBooster, reconnect battery, turn until startup sequence then off again, then start the car up and let it run without touching the accelerator for 5 mins or so. Then drove the car hard. Not sure this sequence is really necessary thought The most time-consuming part is removing the plastic bit that covers above the pedals.

Yes, it's worth the money! :)

So, exactly how bad is the fuel consumption after installation?

Also - anyone in Melbourne have one of these fitted? Would love to meet up to compare :)

agree totally.. i think you might be able to achieve not too far off standard fuel consumption if you trained your right foot. But you'd have to be consciously trying to tickle the throttle when you drove it, which is a pain. So i guess you should expect some drop in fuel economy

Will report on fuel consumption over the next few weeks

Well everyone who has had this installed seem really pleased. Ive got a stock auto MY04 and the one thing that has been annoying me is the response in low revs. So id be keen order one of these and see what happens.

Is it worth me putting this on my stockers soobie? If you think so, is any1 keen to start a groupbuy for these?
