Guys this might be a stupid question but what do you guys do when you get a flat with a 19" wheel ?

I know a lot of guys have only 4 aftermarket wheels and there spare is a different size or they dont have one at all.

I dont wont to be left in that situation.

Or get another cheaper 19" wheel with the same tyre size on it?

Depending on your new wheel/tyre width and overall diameter it may not fit in the spare tyre well. In that case you have it risk it with a standard sized spare or call a towtruck. Do not ever use that puncture repair in a can stuff that fills your tyre with goop. It is the messiest crap that I'm sure any tyre shop will cringe at having to clean off your wheels (and charge you a small fortune in labor).

Not likely. If a wheel/tyre was so big it wouldn't fit in the spare well, it wouldn't fit under the guards. There is a huge gap around the 215/45R18 spare in my car.

Its the width, not the diameter that would be the problem

Harry - I looked at buying an STi space saver to get me through. I was going to do this because of the brembo's fitted...

But, I've now decided to keep my current 18" wheel even though it won't cover the FRONT brembo. Soooo, if I get flat on the front, I've gotta two wheels... Rear first (19 to 18), then front (19 flat to 19 from rear). I've got a 50% chance of that happening.... If rears, no issue.

Cheers

You must be excited if you're giving us minute by minute updates! :P

Times like this I bet you wish you could go into a self-induced coma so you don't have to count the minutes and when you wake up the wheels will be here.

Today I got my guards rolled.

I have to say that I am stoked of the job that Gavin did. Very neat and fussy with his work, he wants to get it right from the word go.

Here are a few pics.... :D

teK-- wrote:Personally if money was no object I would get Bridgestone RE070A since they are a good mixed track/road tyre and are one step up from the RE050A. They will take a little longer than normal road tyres to get warm/grippy but they grip really well on the limit.

Quite expensive though $450+ for the 18" but they are more readily available than tyres such as Nitto or Advan which can be a hassle if you get a puncture that cannot be repaired.

Hey Jim,

I search around to get a price on the Bridgestone RE070A in a 225/35/19.
I was told that they only go upto a 18" from a bridgestone centre. I found this pretty weird.

Trying to find something decent is freaking hard. LOL
